Chapter 140 Don't Hurt Bella

After lunch, Bella left in a taxi. Nick jumped into a sports car where Edwin sat in the driver’s seat with a cold look.

"I said she is not the girl you thought, don't get any ideas about her."

Nick whistled. "Hey, don’t tell me that you have a crush on her now, do you?"

"Don't forget who I am."

Nick's face sank. "Yes, but don't forget your true identity. Don’t think of yourself as guardian of the Becks family."

The car was full of the stench of darkness and Nick’s youthful face gave off a totally different vibe from that of the young man he seemed to be a second ago.

The air inside the car seemed to have been sucked out and the passengers were left with a heavy sense of oppression.

Edwin seemed not to be affected at all as he calmly opened the roof of the sports car. Although the atmosphere was still stuffy the air that came inside from outside was fresh.

Nick sneered, "It seems that the Becks family has emboldened you."

Edwin smirked, "Whether in the sea or in the human world, being a daredevil is a kind of disease. And, obviously, I don’t have that disease."

Nick suddenly laughed and slammed his fist on Edwin's shoulder. "Edwin, your jokes are becoming more and funny."

Edwin was hit in the shoulder and he hit the accelerator with a jolt. He stabilized the speed of the car and pursed his lips disapprovingly, "It is the Beck family that gave me a good education."

Nick put a hand on his shoulder and his black eyes smirked. "What? Are you angry now?"

Edwin licked his lips and said, "Bella is not the person you are looking for. I hope you won’t hurt her."

Nick looked at him with a fake smile, "Do you have a crush on humans?"

"I am a human."

Nick reminisced and said, "How do I forget, you are the human being brought back by her! What to do, I am still young, but you can no longer live for years. I will be very upset when I watch you die in front of me." He looked at Edwin with distress.

"Sorry to bother you, brother, I can still live for at least sixty years. Maybe by that time you will have long been killed by Charles."

Nick hugged his chest and pretended to be embarrassed. "How can we do this? We are brothers! How could you curse me like this?"

Edwin glanced at him strangely. "You and Charles are brothers."

"Yeah. Since I am here, I should say hello to my brother." Nick sat up straight and a grin spread on his lips. "It’s good tonight."

"Don't hurt Bella."

"Bella, Bella, Bella is in a relationship with Charles! How could you  speak of her so intimately?" That comment stung Edwin.

The car stopped short and the wheels made a sharp humming sound against the road.

Crash! The door on the front passenger seat automatically popped open.

Edwin looked coldly at Nick, "Get out!"

Nick slammed the door all at once and gave him a smug look, "If you want to have a tsunami here, I will get out. Now your sweet Bella is on the way back to William’s Group. What should I do? If I made a tsunami now she would be dead."

Edwin stared at him cautiously, "You wouldn't dare!"

Nick shrugged in disapproval. "I have nothing to lose." He spread out his palms and a pale-blue sea crystal rolled in the center of the palm. He looked at Edwin and said. "I haven't played this much for a long time. Do you want to have a try? Anyway, Charles will clean up the mess. What do you think?"

Edwin gripped the steering wheel tighter and slammed his foot on the accelerator. Then, the sports car rolled up and slammed into the middle of traffic.

The world had nothing to do with him, but Bella shouldn’t get hurt.

Nick’ clothes and hair were blown by the wind. He was not afraid at all. He stood up, opened his arms, and enjoyed the fun.

It was 12:30 when Charles finished the meeting. When he returned to the President's office, he stood in front of the door and looked in the direction of Bella's desk.

Nobody!

Charles furloughed his eyebrows. She shouldn't be so free.

The first thing he did when he got back to the office was to sense.

At first, he wasn't worried because Bella was the person he could sense most easily. Sometimes he could see her position without even closing his eyes. But this time was different. Charles’s face gradually twisted itself with frustration. He couldn’t sense her!

He tried to concentrate but he could not sense her. He frowned even more and when he opened his eyes his face was red. He pressed the branch phone of the secretary, Shirley, and said, "Please come to my office."

Shirley came in and asked, "My Lord, what can I do for you?"

Charles leaned back in the leather chair and looked at her coldly. "Why didn't Bella attend the big client meeting?"

Although it was a question, it seemed he already knew the answer.

Shirley was shocked at first but a second later she answered him truthfully, "The Lady is noble and I don't dare to arrange arduous work for her." Noting that Charles’ face was still very grim, she added quickly, "I heard that sitting too much is not good for pregnancy. I worried that after a long meeting the Lady might be exhausted."

Charles seemed to be somewhat satisfied with this answer. If Bella was to give him a baby, of course, she couldn’t be overworked.

He nodded and said, "In the future, Bella shall attend all of my meetings." After a second, he added, "Give her a the seat next to mine."

Shirley quickly nodded and agreed, but thought to herself what adding a chair next to his would mean. Was this like bringing the queen into the court like in ancient times?

Shirley left the room, but her heart was unsettled.

Charles picked up the telephone and dialed Ziv, but he hung up quickly and phoned Bella directly.

Bella saw the word "boss" on the screen and immediately became sullen. Charles may try to make trouble for her again.

She sometimes thought that Charles was pitiful. Even though he hated her, he had to keep her around because of her blood relationship.

She picked up the phone and said respectfully, “Hello, my Lord.”

The moment he heard her voice his heart seemed to settle down. It was complicated and contradictory.

The complex feelings of human society were so contagious!

Charles's gorgeous voice is even more intoxicating through the microphone. "Where are you?"

Bella was not going to hide, "I am in a taxi."

"Where did you go?"

"I went for lunch." She wasn't lying to him, she had eaten a burger at lunch.

"Get back here within ten minutes." The phone slammed down on the heavily as he hung up. He tapped his fingers on the table. He didn't have time to eat because he was looking for her, but she's got time to take a taxi to go and eat.

Ziv knocked on the door.

"My Lord, did you just called me?"

The tapping of fingers on the table suddenly stopped. Charles looked up at Ziv and said, "Prepare for a lunch for four and serve it here in ten minutes."
