Chapter 130 - It’s Better to Have Pain

Katherine was livid, she even wanted to smack her. But she couldn’t. There were servants everywhere; she would not take the initiative to hit her.

“Bella don’t be so complacent.” Katherine stood beside her and smiled kindly. But every word she spoke was rank with poison, “Wait and see. I will kick you out of here in five days.”

Bella was amused to see that Katherine had such a sweet smile, but her words were so cruel, “You are so pathetic. Don’t you feel tired from wearing such a mask every day?”

Katherine did not care about what she had said. She spoke as if she was talking to herself, “Five days. Bella. You will be getting the f**k out of here in five days. Enjoy your time here in wealth for you will be without again.”

Bella left without a word.

The two were about an arm's length away from each other, but Katherine fell to the floor just as Bella passed by her as if she was paper.

Bella planned to help her to stand up. But a cold voice sounded from behind, “Bella!”

She knew it was Charles without turning around to confirm.

It was a trick usually seen on a TV show, Bella was being played. Katherine seemed to be enjoying herself in the act. She fell into Charles’s arms as he reached her. She smiled at him, “Charles. I am all right. My falling had nothing to do with Bella. I just haven’t recovered from yesterday’s ankle injury.”

Katherine was smart. There might be a servant who would have been able to see the truth.  She didn’t need to frame Bella. At that moment, Charles must be on her side.

Bella looked at his angry face, and she shrugged her shoulders, “You heard her. I had nothing to do with this.”

She left quickly since Katherine had delayed her. She didn’t want to miss her bus.

“Stop.” Charles’s voice sounded again behind her.

Bella stopped, turned around and looked at him quietly with a faint smile.

“Bella, I have told you never to harm Katherine because of your jealousy.”

He seemed furious. His face was stiff, and his eyes were filled with tumultuous waves.

“Yes.”

“It is the last time. Think of your mother in the hospital. Never do that again.”

Charles’s voice was cold, like ice that could never be melted.

His words froze Bella. Her hand that held her bag clenched. She replied with a smile, “Okay.”

As Katherine watched Bella leave, she stuck out her tongue at Charles, “Honey, why are you so mad at her. She still needs to bear your child.”

“Sorry for upsetting you.” Charles held her and asked “Does your ankle hurt?

“I am fine.” Katherine smiled like a flower. She lowered her head to cover the exhilaration in her eyes.

She must have thought too highly of Bella. Charles may not be lying to her, he really planned to wait until they had married and then sleep with her. Or else, how could it be that Bella was unable to steal his heart though they had slept with each other?

It seemed that it would not take five days for Bella to leave forever.

Charles sent Katherine to her villa, and her breakfast had also been sent there. When he was back at the main house, Ziv handed him the cup and said, “Milady left this.”

Charles blinked at the sight of the half-full cup of blood. He only needed a little of her blood to recover himself. That amount was enough for half a month.

He handed the empty cup to Ziv after drinking. “Deal with the remnants.”

Her blood could not be allowed to fall into the hands of anyone. Charles needed to be careful even on his own land.

Bella still waited for the bus when Charles passed by the bus station.

She was quiet in the crowd with her hands holding the strap of her bag tightly. Under the crystal bracelet on her wrist, there was gauze that wrapped her wound.

Charles felt worse. He initially planned to ask Ziv to stop and pick her up, but he quit the idea and frowned when he thought of when Katherine fell onto the floor.

He texted her, “Three times fined if you are late today.”

Charles saw that Bella began to run after she checked the cellphone.

Four miles away there was a subway station, but by taking the subway, Bella was unable to get to work directly, and it was very crowded, Bella seldom took it.

Charles closed his eyes and saw that Bella sprinted. But his face changed colour when he saw that she was packed in tightly and surrounded by men in the subway.

That morning, Bella ran a lot. From the bus station to the subway station; from the subway station to work. But she was still one minute late when she clocked in.

Bella walked toward her desk sullenly.

She thought she could earn the money that Charles fined her by doing part-time jobs. Now she realized that it was hard to achieve.

As she thought of what Charles had told her in the doorway that morning, her heart ached deeply. But she gradually felt relieved.

Bella, you are such a terrible woman in his mind. Don’t expect that he would love you back. Do you think that he forced you to confess your love for him because he also loved you? No, he was just teasing you. You were a tool, a puppet for him to play with when he was bored. In his eyes, you are not even a person. Otherwise, how could he throw you to the dolphins for them to play with, how could he throw you into the sea? How could he throw you against the wall repeatedly like a piece of junk?

He proved your innocence not for you but for his own selfish reasons. He did not want his child to have a mother with a bad reputation.

Be clear-minded. Bella.

She passed by Charles’s office when she was still trying to cheer herself up. Ziv stood in the doorway.

“Milady.” Ziv bowed to her politely and said, “You are late today.”

“Mhm.”

“The Lord asks for you.”

The real reason Charles fined her was because of Katherine.

Fair enough, the crueller he was, the sooner she gave up on him.

Charles was on the phone when she came into his office.

With that gentle tone, the only possibility was that he was speaking with Katherine. He usually looked at Bella coldly as if she was a stranger on the street. Of course, he was once gentle to her, but that happened only when he was happy.

However, he was rarely happy before her, so the gentleness was also little.

Bella just stood there and listened to how he comforted Katherine with his gentle voice. “Don’t walk around, take care of yourself.” He was so patient and considerate.

Good! She was deeply hurt.

Bella stood in front of his desk and waited until he hung up the phone. Then she asked, “My Lord, you asked for me?”

You’re late.” Charles leaned back in his chair lazily and looked at her expressionlessly.
