Chapter 127 - Bella’s Character

Charles did not reply. He held her hands and brought her in front of him.

Her half-open collar loosened more, and the bathrobe fell open. Her body exposed to Charles.

Charles turned his head to the side. He held her and said, “Go to bed.”

Katherine looked at him and wrapped his neck with her arms. She breathed heavily and said, “I’m not tired, Charles. Let’s…do something.”  

Charles frowned when he heard that.

Her meaning was clear. How could Charles not have understood what she meant?

Although he was unable to feel the way humans do, he had lived with them for so long, he naturally understood what Katherine meant by her intentional or unintentional actions tonight.

“Katherine, you are drunk. Go to bed.” He told her.

“Charles don’t push me away anymore. I am twenty-two years old, I am an adult.” Katherine eagerly stood on her toes to kiss him.

“Katherine.” Charles turned away.

Katherine was unable to kiss him. She was depressed and said, “Charles, why…?”

Why did he turn away?

The age of consent of their homeland was 16, she was legally allowed to have sex. Most of her friends had slept with their boyfriends. But she still didn’t. Because Charles refused her for she was too young.

Now she was twenty-two years old, and she did not want to wait anymore.

“Charles, do you think I am repugnant?” Tears gushed from her eyes. “You have told me that you love me.”

Charles looked back at her and said, “Yes. I love you.”

Katherine said eagerly, “Then why don’t you want me? We’ve been together for years. My dad agreed to our relationship long ago. Why can’t we sleep together now?”

“Not now.”

“Why?”

Charles fell into silence again.

“Why? Charles.” Katherine held him tight. “I remained a virgin for you. Why don’t you want me?”

“Not now,” Charles repeated and furrowed his eyebrows. He actually had no sexual desire when he was around her.

He did not reply, and she was willing to make every effort to get what she wanted. Katherine stepped back and slid the bathrobe off. It fell limply to the floor. Her whole body was fair and exquisite. The air reached every inch of her body, and he could see it all.

Charles looked at Katherine’s body expressionlessly, “Katherine, put on the bathrobe.”

“No.” Katherine was stubborn, “Charles, we have been together for many years, but you’ve never slept with me. My friends all tell me you don’t genuinely love me. I don’t believe them. Please don’t turn me down again this time, Charles.”

Bella would be surprised if she heard that Charles was also a virgin the first time he had sex with her.

Charles and Katherine had not slept with each other yet.

“Katherine. Put the bathrobe on. You are in poor health and could catch a cold.” Charles said one more time.

Katherine did not listen to him. She began to unbutton his shirt.

But Charles stopped her just after she had one undone.

“Charles…” She looked up at her and tears welled up in her eyes, “If you love me, why you don’t want me? Why?”

Charles looked at her gently and coaxed her, “I want to wait until you become my wife. Then we are justified to sleep together.”

Katherine shook her head, “I don’t want to wait anymore. It is too long. I must wait until Bella gives birth to your child? Charles, I don’t want to wait. I have waited for too long!”

She already made her words clear, and she was so determined that she would not give up.

Charles denied her nothing. He would agree with anything if she cried and played the obedient woman.

But this night, he had declined her advances completely.

“I won’t keep you waiting for me for too long this time.” Charles looked at her and said firmly. “I’ll deal with everything. You will be mine as long as we get married.”

Katherine looked at his eyes, and her tears did not stop, “How long do I have to wait? One year? Two years?” She shook her head desperately, “Too long, Charles, it’s too long.”

As she looked at her beloved, she refused to care about anything. Again Katherine stood on her toes to kiss his lips.

Charles was surprised but soon stopped her.

His held her hands and pushed her away, “Katherine, you are not well-behaved now.”

Katherine burst out crying desperately, “I don’t care at all. I want to be your woman for just one night, for just tonight!”

Charles was fretful. He faced Katherine’s naked body and had no instinctual reactions at all.

He even would have thought that he was impotent if he hadn’t had sex with Bella.

Katherine’s tears made him more agitated. He had to be patient and said to her, “Don’t cry. Katherine.”

She looked up at him, “Charles, have you…slept with Bella?”

Charles did not realize that she would ask a question like that. He did not escape from this question and replied directly, “I need an heir.”

Katherine suddenly held her head in pain, crying, “Why am I not able to bear children? Why...”

She was jealous of Bella, so much. Bella could have Charles just because she was able to give birth to a child.

Charles watched Katherine break down like that, he felt restless. Although it was because of him that Katherine was unable to have a baby, she was incapable of having his heir with her blood type even if she was able.

Katherine was in such misery, Charles suddenly thought of how Bella forced herself to practice smiles in front of a mirror at the sight of that.

Bella would feel pain and would cry. But she seldom cried in front of others. Even if she fainted from the whipping of one of his dolphin’s tails; even if she was thrown into the sea and almost died; also if she bled after being thrown into the wall by him, she just looked at him firmly. Then she would put away her claws and behave well for days.

In fact, he gradually found Bella’s character was interesting.

She was afraid of death, but she was also stubborn. She had to be given some trouble before she behaved well. But a few days later, she dared to be against him again. She indeed had a healthy vitality.

Charles bent down and picked up the bathrobe. He put it on Katherine gently, “Don’t cry.”

Katherine was unable to stop. The tears dropped like a broken line of beads.
