Chapter 114 - Edwin’s Embarrassmen

It was bizarre since he was seriously injured that year, his senses had returned with Bella’s blood, but the ability to feel others was still weak, such as Katherine, he couldn’t sense her. However, it was particularly evident that he could feel Bella, maybe it was the result of using her blood.

Moreover, the closer they were in distance, the clearer the picture was.

He saw the two heads tightly become closer.

Charles frowned, Bella dared to bring that Edwin Beck into his company.

She had gotten bolder, and even dared to ignore his warning.

He would remember this and punish her later.

Charles suddenly opened his eyes and stood up, he walked quickly to the desk.

Katherine didn't react to him, she was seated on the couch and silently watched his movements.

Charles picked up the phone on the desk and dialled it to the to the on-duty secretary. “Inform everyone that the meeting will be on time and that everyone must attend in the conference room.”

“Yes my Lord.”

The secretary felt strange that the team leaders had already informed everyone the meeting time, why did the Lord want it repeated? But she still gave the call to every secretary who went out for lunch.

As a couple of them left the cafeteria they saw that Bella talked to a young man and one of them wanted to remind her, but she stopped.

“She is the Lady, she is exceptional.”

“That man is also handsome.” another said. “I really don't know why she is so lucky that she could know so many handsome men. She is just a regular woman.”

“Well, don't be enchanted with the man, let’s go.”

Bella had lost track of time.

At 1:30 p.m. Shirley knocked on the door and reminded Charles, “My Lord, everyone is already in place, shall we start the meeting?”

Charles frowned, “Everyone? Is Bella there?”

She faced the strong presence of Charles, Shirley forced herself to maintain professional and said. “The lady is still having lunch downstairs.”

The lady, these two words hit Katherine’s heart. It turned out that the people here had already known that Bella was his wife. And she actually was benefitting from the privilege of being “The Lady.”

“Prepare for the meeting.” Blaming Bella in front of people was undoubtedly the plan now.

Charles’s eyes were gloomy, “Start the meeting.”

“Yes My Lord.” Shirley stepped back.

Katherine walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist, she put her chin on his broad shoulder. “Honey...”

Charles frowned slightly and pulled her hands away. “I am going to have the meeting, I have been with you the whole morning. I will ask Ziv to drive you back to Williams Mansion.”

Katherine pouted. “I want to wait for you, so we can go back together.”

“You go back first. I will ask Ziv to drive you. Then I will come back as soon as I finish what needs to be done.”

Charles’s eyes sank, “Be good.”

Katherine didn't dare to ask anymore. She knew that although Charles was kind to her, as he had been in a high position for a long time, he did not like when others questioned him. Although she seemed to be arrogant, she was actually very obedient and stopped at the right point.

Seeing that his face changed slightly, Katherine immediately succumbed to him and nodded obediently. “Then, I will go back first. You don't have to find someone to drive me. It isn’t winter now, my body is ok. I know where Williams Mansion is, I can take a cab.”

Katherine indeed knew Charles’s character and reminded him of the injuries she had suffered.

Seeing her clever grievances, and he thought that she had gotten hurt because of him, Charles’s look turned slightly softer. “Then I will go to the meeting, you will just wait for me here. Okay?”

“Okay.” Katherine nodded immediately. “I will wait for you here, I won’t go anywhere.”

Charles held her hand and said, “Wait for me.”

“Well. Darling, you can go to work. I am here waiting for you.” Seeing there was a coldness in his eyes, Katherine quickly said, “If my being here disturbs you, I will take a taxi back to Williams Mansion.”

“Don't overthink, just wait for me here.”

The last blob of coldness in Charles’s eyes finally disappeared.

“Okay.” Katherine smiled at him obediently.

Her compliance made his heart soften, and he kissed her on the forehead. He then took the documents on the desk and went out.

Katherine watched him depart, and her obedient smile slowly turned into one of delight.

Only she could accurately grasp her darling Charles’s emotions. As long as she was slightly obedient, her lover would do what she wanted because he felt guilty.

Therefore, Bella... How could Bella have her title? The secretary called Bella “Lady.”That title was supposed to be hers. 

Katherine was livid with what the secretary had said.

After Edwin finished making his requests, Bella realized the time. It was now 2 o’clock.

He saw the anxiety on her face, Edwin quickly stood up, “Do you have to go to work? Sorry, I forgot the time.”

Bella waved her hand, “No, it is my own problem.” She quickly picked up her phone off the table and waved at him. “I must go back to work first. I will finish this as soon as possible. Don’t worry, if you don’t like it, I’m fine with changing it until it’s perfect.”

After that, she ran out, her knee hit the coffee table, and the coffee spilled to the ground as well as sprinkled on Edwin’s white pants, it was a very noticeable stain.

“I'm sorry.” She grabbed a whole bunch of napkins from the table and wiped the coffee from Edwin’s leg.

Edwin grabbed her wrist and looked at his leg. He said gently and politely. “Here, I better handle it myself.”

Bella was surprised to find that was really not suitable for her to deal with.

Indeed... the more nervous, the messier things got.

Bella’s face turned red, and she looked at him. She was really anxious now. She had been late by nearly half an hour. She didn’t know how Charles would deduct her money. Although she knew for a fact that many of her colleagues would come back late after lunch, Charles was always harsh on her.

“It doesn't matter. I will deal with it myself. You should go.” Edwin touched her head with the kindness in his eyes, her heart warmed.

This was referred to as ‘the legendary embrace of the sea’ which meant that someone was tolerant.

He could accommodate all her embarrassment to make her feel less ridiculous about herself after she had done such a stupid thing.

“Yes, I have to go.” Bella shook his hand, “I will finish the poster as soon as I can.”

“Alright.”

Edwin looked at her as she ran back to work, and his soft eyes finally fell on his trousers. He shook his head.

That little jerk didn’t know that he would have been more embarrassed than her if she continued wiping.
