Chapter 107 – Admitted i

His face was frozen, “What did you mean?”

How simple her thoughts were!

“You know what I meant. Last night I overstepped my place. I just …daydreamed, please, forget about it.”

Charles propped his forehead in his hand, and looked at her sneeringly, “I have a good memory. I can remember it what had happened last night clearly. You said you love me. Moreover, I remember how you looked under me.”

Bella’s face burned.

How could he that say so boldly?

“It won’t happen again.” She bit her lower lip. “I won’t bring any trouble from now on. I will be submissive and disciplined not greedy, I will not mess things up. I will control my emotions and suppress my feelings.”

When she finished, Charles’s face looked dim.

He said in his detached voice, “Bella, you are my woman, my wife. I allow you to love me. You must love only me, whether at the present or in the future.”

Bella became distressed, but shocked by his words, she turned to him, stuttering, “You…you…” She could not express what she wanted to say clearly.

She just wanted to ask what he meant by what he said, and Charles continued to say, “Don’t you understand? Bella, you said you loved me, which means you must devote your love and only love me. If I find you love another man one day, I warn you, you and the man will come to a sharp end.”

So, he was possessive of her, did that mean he loved her too?

Bella doubted but was a little delighted. Did Charles really love her? 

She held her head high, and said carefully, “You mean you love me, don’t you?”

She looked at him eagerly with anticipation. Charles’s eyes became cold, and his voice was ultra-nonchalant, “Bella, this is the way you are submissive?”

Bella’s heart sunk heavily. He forced her to love him, but never give her a tiny bit of hope.

How cruel he was!

“Good!” Bella sat up straight and looked out of the window. Her tears dropped on her shirt and soaked into the fabric.

Charles was confused too when she said that she wanted to pretend nothing had happened.

He did not know that she was so open-minded. On the position of Lady Williams, she could do such a speech like “control her emotion and suppress her feelings.”

He would not allow someone to walk into his life and leave freely!

Bella did not speak anymore. She kept looking out of the window. However, she didn’t know what was happening outside.

She knew that Charles was a man with a warped character, but she had fallen in love with him and spoke out. After her shameless confession of love, she was even told by him to not ask for his love.

Because there was Katherine between them!

What a weird situation they had!

When she thought of Katherine, Charles spoke, “Ziv, what about Katherine, how is that going?”

“My Lord, we are tracing the clues that we have found. Would you like me to increase the number of people in the search?”

“Yes.”

“Yes, My Lord.”

He just discussed Katherine openly in front of her without worrying about her feelings, he never thought of the woman who had just admitted her love to him.

Bella became distressed.

She spoke thoughtfully, “My Lord, Katherine is in town, can we try to use artificial insemination? I don’t want to affect your relationship.”

He wanted her to have a baby only, though he said he could not do artificial insemination. She did not believe what he said but preferred to think that he had been using her for sexual gratification as well. But now Katherine was in town, he did not need to have sex with her, and they could try the test-tube way

Charles answered coldly, “Just behave yourself. Bella.” 

Bella paused and nodded, and then said quietly, which he hardly heard, “I see.”

He saw that her mood had soured as her voice sounded sad, Charles’ heart weighed heavily in his chest.

The car stopped before the Williams Building, Bella was about to leave. Suddenly Charles grabbed her hand unexpectedly, she turned back and found his face was very much close to hers.

He clutched her wrist tightly, and said in his gorgeous voice, “Bella, just stay beside me, don’t think about anything, understand?”

Her chest moved up and down violently, as her throat grew tight. She was a person with her own feelings and thoughts. How could she do anything without thinking, when she had recognized the fact that he loved someone else?

She looked into his eyes and smiled faintly, “Of course I will stay beside you, for I do need the money. My mother will die without you. But I cannot force myself to stop thinking. I certainly keep thinking, I will keep thinking if no other person was in your heart, there may be a chance for me, and that you will love me one day.”

Charles’s eyes were dim for a second.

Bella looked at his outrageously handsome face, continued, “I love you, so I hope, one day, you may love me too. Because when someone is in love, they always hope that love will be returned. No one likes unrequited love. I think that maybe if I am submissive, obedient, or I try harder, and I may be rewarded by a look from you, and I may win your heart. But, Charles, you are in love already.” Bella’s voice trembled, “So, it is impossible for me.”

Charles loosened his clutch on her wrist.

Bella drew her hand back, watched his indifferent eyes. She understood that his heart would never have her.

He asked her to love him, due to his habit of possession, she was one of his belongings, like a shirt, a tie etc. All his things could only belong to him, except when he wanted to cast it away.

Charles said distantly, “Katherine is Katherine, you are you. As I have said, you are not comparable to her.”

“Yes, I am of course not comparable to her. I am just the baby maker, that is certainly not comparable. You love her, very much, don’t you?”

Charles thought for a moment and nodded, “Yes.”

Bella was upset, “You just admit it so quickly.” her voice was faint, as she was soaked in her endlessly sadness. “I’m sorry.”

She could not stay any longer, she couldn’t bear what he said. She pushed the door open quickly and ran away from the car as fast as she could.

She used to think that he was the kind of man who was difficult to realize his own love, so he never admitted that he loved her. In fact, he could speak freely that he loved Katherine.
