Chapter 93 - Promise Fulfilled
Ziv ignored them and continued to ask, “Who instructed you to attack that woman?”
The tall man replied. “We don't know who he is. We only got one call and received the deposit.”
Ziv then continued to question them.
Bella heard it clearly. The four men, in fact, did not know who had instructed them. Someone just gave them a sum of money with a photo and then specified the time and place for them to rape the woman.
A short man went on to say, “We received a photo and saw she was an older woman. We would have refused it. But the person put 1.2 million into our account as a deposit. Then we went there. But...” he bitterly said, “We didn’t actually want to rape her, so we were actually just going to rough her up a bit and made it look like we did. But she fought back and fought back hard. Then we just unintentionally stab her...”
Unintentionally...
What a casual word.
Bella was so angry that her body shook.
Because of their “unintentional” stabbing, her mother was in a coma. If there weren’t a good-hearted person, Bess would have lost her life.
“Calm down!” Charles held her a little more tightly. “Let me show you all the evidence, after all, I want you to be willing.”
Bella lowered her head and looked at the arm that circled around her waist with a grieved feeling emerging in her heart.
Yep, what she wanted was to earn the justice for her mother, and what he wanted was that she willingly gave her body to him.
“Mr. Sanders!” Ziv turned to Len.
When Len heard the first thing that Ziv asked the four men, he already knew why Charles had asked him to come.
As soon as he heard Ziv call him, his body started to shake, and his face turned white. “Yes, sir...”
Ziv showed a bank flow list. “Mr. Sanders, on July 24th, you used an ID card of one of your company’s employees to get a bank card and transferred 1.2 million dollars in and out. Do you remember?”
Len was more cunning than Lynn. He knew that there was a word called “swindle” in this world. He evidently had no evidence but pretended that he knew everything to grab useful information from other people’s mouths.
From the very beginning, he decided to not confess anything.
He shook his head firmly. “Mr. Whitman, what are you saying? Although Bess and I got divorced, she is still Bella’s mother, a woman that I used to love. How could I let people rape her? That’s impossible...”
Ziv coldly unmasked the reality. “According to the insider, you have been married to Ms. Bess for a few years because of the business and your impotence. You never had sex with your wife. Therefore, you were so determined to chase Miss. Brook and her mother out.”
Not only did Len's expression look terrible, but also Bella felt totally incredible.
What did Ziv mean when he said that Len and her mother didn’t have sex with each other? Then who was her father?
Len rubbed his hands and flatteringly smiled. “This, this is impossible. How could Bella not be my child?!”
Ziv said calmly, “Whether Mr. Sanders is the true father of our Lady will be obvious after we check it out.”
“Of course,” Len suddenly reacted, “Lady?” His eyes widened suddenly as he looked at Bella. He agilely came to Charles like a quick string of arrows and kneeled down without warning. “My Lord, I confess, I did so. But, my Lord, I did this all for you. My dear Lord!”
Len reacted amazingly fast. Ziv's “Lady” inadvertently reminded him that he intended to pressure Bella to marry Charles. He wanted nothing else.
Now Bella became “Lady,” which meant that his plan had been successful. He was now a benefactor of Charles.
That had happened so suddenly that he had forgotten that there was a chance for rebuttal.
Bella was so angry that she nearly rushed towards him.
Len confessed, he finally admitted.
Charles’s arms around her waist and held her without much strength. He unsympathetically looked at Len who was kneeling at his feet and raised his eyebrows, “I know.” he said.
Len quickly said, “My Lord, I did that in order to persuade Bella to marry you. I just wanted to scare her into helping me convince Bella. I didn’t think things would go that wrong. My Lord, I sincerely did everything for you.”
Charles's lips raised with sarcasm. “So, you hurt my mother-in-law, and made Bella hate me, you did all this for me?”
Len was shocked. He didn't expect Charles to stay out of the affair. He nervously kneeled and walked in front of him. “My Lord, I didn’t mean this to happen. What happened to Bella’s mother was really an accident. I didn't think they would be so violent. I really just wanted to scare her.”
The tallest of the men shouted, “What are you f*****g talking about? You said on the phone that if she is not dead, we could play with her as we want. It is best to scare her to the end!”
Len yelled out. “I just wanted you to scare her, not kill her.”
“f**k you, she is not dead, she is just vegetable now.”
They argued fiercely face to face.
“Enough, that is enough.” Bella muffled her head and huddled in pain. “You, you are all criminals. I will never forgive you, never...”
Charles’s voice arose around her ears. “How do you want me to punish them? I can satisfy you.”
His voice was like the devil who came to the world, charming and indolent to seduce the mundane to exchange their souls for their wishes.
Bella raised her head slowly, her startling look absorbed in his blue pupils, as she repeated his words instinctively, “Really? Can I really punish them as I want?”
“Yes, anything you wish,” Charles replied to her sluggishly.
She wanted them to die.
Bella wanted to say this, but in the end, she just silently lowered her head, and her tears fell on her legs. “I want them to do penance for the rest of their lives...”
Charles no longer asked her, and he looked straight at Ziv. “Send them to the police station, list all the crimes and add three times the heavier penalty.” Then he looked at Len, “In fact, it would be too easy to kill you. Since Bella wants to save your life, then you would do better penance in prison.”
With a wave of Charles’s hand, several people in white came up and took Len away.
Len struggled desperately. “You can't do this, my Lord. You said that if you got married to Bella, you would give me a shipping route. My Lord, you can't break your promise.”
Charles wordlessly waved his hands, and the men in white who held Len stopped at once.
The tall man replied. “We don't know who he is. We only got one call and received the deposit.”
Ziv then continued to question them.
