Chapter 87 - Silly and Naive

DB Group's new quarterly fashion show had been messed up by Lynn Sanders, the popularity that she gained not that long ago diminished and her reputation became sour.

At the moment the ceremony had finished, Martin Smith was called back to the company to deal with public relations. That afternoon, He donated 1,000 water purifiers in the western area, and funded ten primary schools art departments, to switch people’s focus from Lynn. But the stockholders still sold, and the share price fell, and even some of them began to transfer their shares.

Mrs. Smith’s blood pressure rose and didn’t let him come to their home.

Martin was regretful for breaking up with Bella, a quiet girl without any hobbies and never got into any trouble. During their four year relationship, nothing happened.

Over the last few months when he was with Lynn, trouble continuously found them.

He just wanted to stay alone, but when he saw Lynn, he got angry.

How could she still have the courage to stand in front of him?

She was faced with his question and his anger, Lynn decided to dodge it, “Martin, let me brew you a cup of honey tea, just wait a minute.”

Lynn quickly ran into the kitchen to brew the tea and added the drug her mother gave her into it.

She turned around and saw Martin stand beside the kitchen door, he stared intently at her.

Lynn was startled and hurried to hide the small bottle in her hand, “Martin, you startled me.”

He went to her step by step, put his hand on the table, and casually scanned it. A sharp crackle broke the night, and her ears could not stand this sound.

Lynn was in shock and instinctively stepped back as she looked at this man, she could not help but step back and looked at this man in shock. She was good at lying, but this time she was unable to. “Martin.”

He stared at her, tore off his tie, and suddenly laughed, as if he thought of something funny, and wept, “I'm crazy. How could I believe you were an innocent woman?” His hands held onto the counter, and he laughed between tears, “How could I believe a girl who could provoke her parents to frame her sister?” he gave himself a slap, “I am so stupid.”

“Martin.” she was frightened. She loved him and could not bear to see him slap himself like that. She rushed to him immediately, “Don't do this, Martin. You must believe me, it's true that someone set me up today. It’s true, you must trust me. I love you so much.”

“Trust you?” Martin smiled and held her wrist, suddenly her hand loosened, and a small glass bottle fell out.

Martin caught the small bottle and looked at her. “How many men did you use this on? If you're innocent, why would you feel the need to drug me? When Bella was framed, she had never thought of using that to prove her innocence.” His voice was cold. “You know what you have done!”

Lynn yanked her wrist away, and her back hit the table, and she immediately cried out. That man had always been gentle to her, now even didn’t give her a second look as he walked into the bedroom and shut the door.

“Martin, Martin.” Lynn burst into tears, “I'm sorry. I'm sorry.”

Lynn Sanders felt that Martin no longer wanted to see her. No man could tolerate his wife committing adultery, especially a man like Martin.

She was afraid there's no chance to win his heart back.

But now, Lynn had no other choice. Martin was the city's wealthiest bachelor. She had a man like him but still committed adultery.

For the first time, she felt desperate, and she had no other choice. Now she could only listen to her mother's words and seduce him.

She held her battered wrist and walked to the bedroom, but the bedroom door was locked.

Her tears thudded down, for he didn't even want her to go in the bedroom.

“You can't give up. You can't give up. Martin is a kind-hearted man. So long as I am patient enough, he will certainly come back to me.” she sat down on the sofa and cried.

She's just cried on the sofa all night. She didn’t even have the desire to read or watch the news.

The next morning, Lynn woke up early and prepared breakfast in the kitchen. When she ate her meal at the counter, she saw Martin sitting at the table with a stack of CDs and photos.

She instantly felt something was wrong. Hurried to put her plate aside and looked at them. Sure enough, they were pictures of her with other men. And CDs, needless to say, those were yesterday's videos.

Lynn's face flushed out of shyness and anger. But she still tried to explain, “These are fake. You know, Bella’s photos were edited with Photoshop, right? You know. These photos were also edited with Photoshop.”

She took his hand and looked eagerly at him. She looked forward to an answer that she thought he would give.

But he didn’t respond how she wanted, he just tossed away her hand, “If they were edited with Photoshop, I'd hand it to the Authentication Center.” he told her, “You'd better pray it's not real.”

She was nervous. If Martin took these photos to the Authentication Center, she could do nothing about it. The director of the place was said to be a disciplined old man.

What could she do?

Lynn could only do one thing now, and that would be to confess.

“I’m sorry, Martin. I was wrong. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it. I didn't know that the director had drugged my drink while he was talking. I didn't mean it. I'm so stupid and naive to believe him, I thought that he was really just trying to give me a chance to be in his movie.”

Her tears came down quickly. Martin was afraid of her tears, every time she cried she would coax him.

But now, he gave her a quick glance, and the look was one of hate, “Sure enough, it's true. You are stupid and naive? Do you think I'm stupid too? In addition to that video, other videos’ date a year ago.” He was sick of her, “You're such a lying bitch!”
