Chapter 78 – Liked to Tormen

The next morning, Bella was on time and fed Charles her blood. She did not have breakfast in the dining room, but just took it with her and rushed out.

The smell of food was not allowed in the car and in his company; she had to eat it on the bus.

“Stop!” Charles’s voice sounded from behind.

Bella stopped, and the bag with her breakfast shook in the air.

Charles just sat there and ate his breakfast as if he was not the man who told her to stop.

Bella was puzzled and looked at him, “My Lord, are you talking to me?”

Charles looked at her coldly, “Are you allowed to go now?”

Bella was in a hurry, “I will be late if I do not go now.”

Charles would fine her if she was late.

Then she would not have enough money for her mother’s treatment.

“Sit down.” Charles glanced at her coldly, “Do you want people all over the world to see the ugly face of my woman when she is eating on the bus?”

People all over the world would not have that much time to watch her eat.

Bella came back and sat at the front of the table, she asked, “Will the Lord give me a lift to work?”

Charles did not reply but kept eating his breakfast elegantly.

Bella also began to eat her sandwich, inelegantly. While she ate, she stared at Charles. She was afraid that he would leave her behind like he had done yesterday.

The bus was always slow in the morning because of rush hour.

Charles stood up and left before Bella had finished eating. He walked out of the dining room quickly because of his long legs.

“Why is he so quick?” Bella swallowed the food in her mouth quickly and yelled at Charles, “Wa..wait for me!”

But she choked on the mouthful of food and was about to cry.

“Milady, here is the water.” Roy handed Bella a cup of water. She took the cup and drank it. Then she rushed out to catch up with Charles. But she only found that Charles had already driven off.

“Charles, you are so hateful.” Bella chased his car along the way.

“Lord, Milady, is chasing us, shall we stop for her?” From the rearview mirror, Ziv saw the figure of Bella become farther and farther away from the car.

She had such a strong physical strength.

Charles closed his eyes. In his mind, there were pictures of Bella running after his car. He smiled and said to Ziv, “Slow down.”

He gave her a chance to see if she was able to catch up with him.

Bella was out of breath and was about to stop for a rest. But suddenly she saw her bus was coming.

Bella immediately stopped chasing the car and took a shortcut to the bus stop. She got on the bus at the last second.

“Lord, Milady has taken the bus,” Ziv told Charles.

“Drive.”

Charles’s face darkened. Bella grew increasingly more provoking.

When Charles’s Maybach paralleled with the bus Bella took, Charles saw the smile on her face.

She was delighted.

However, her good mood did not last long. A bottle of water in the hand of a passenger next to her suddenly burst open. The water sprayed on her face.

“Hey!” Bella hurriedly wiped her face with a tissue.

“Sorry, I’m so sorry.” The man was surprised and looked at his water, and then he looked at Bella and explained, “I did not even open it. I don’t know what had happened.”

“That’s all right.” Bella did not blame him.

Her hair was wet, which made her a mess.

Well, wasn’t that her ritual? 

She smiled bitterly.

Charles closed his eyes and saw that her face was soaked. All his gloom wiped away. He said to Ziv then, “Speed up.”

He enjoyed tormenting her.

However, because of traffic, Charles was not much earlier than Bella. When he got out of the car, Bella also was running toward the building.

Bella thought that she was about to be late, so she ran very fast.

She saw Charles but ignored him and kept running.

Seeing that she was approaching the building and could punch in on time, Charles’s voice sounded from behind, “Bella, stop!”

She pretended that she did not hear him and kept running. But when she was about to reach and punch in, a figure appeared in front of her.

Ziv stopped her and said respectfully, “Milady, the Lord is calling your name.”

“Oh…oh, really?” Bella smiled and bypassed him and said, “Let me punch in first.”

“Bella, what is the first article of the secretary's manual?” Charles walked elegantly toward her and asked slowly.

Bella replied subconsciously, “Respect. Greet the superiors when you see them.”

“So, why did you run away at the sight of me?” Charles asked.

Bella saw that Ziv entered the building. He did not need to punch in and walked in, but she needed to punch in and was still standing here.

“Sorry, but I did not see you just now. Lord.” Bella raised her head and forced a smiled at Charles. At the same time, she also glanced at her phone now and then. There were only two minutes left. She really wanted to rush in right now.

“Now you see.” Charles was amused by the sight of her worried face.

It made him feel good to bully her.

“Yes, Lord.” Bella bowed to him in a ninety-degree angle politely. She again glanced at her phone.

One-minute left…

“Well, then, Lord, I’ll punch in now.” She pointed in the direction of the gate.

Charles nodded his head and did not say anything.

Bella sighed in relief and rushed in.

However, while she punched in with her work card, the punch-card machine sounded, “Bella Williams of the secretarial pool is six minutes late.”

Six minutes? How was she six minutes late?

Bella was puzzled, it should have been one minute late.

The machine added, “All staff in the secretarial pool should punch in five minutes in advance.”

What? Why didn’t anyone tell her that? The employee manual also did not mention that.

“Bella, you are late.” Charles’s voice sounded from behind, “$1000 fine.”

“Why? A fine of $50 for five minutes late; $100 for ten minutes late. Why a fine of $1000 for me?” Bella was about to go crazy.

“Because your salary is given or deducted by me personally. I am much more valued than the accountant.” Charles said seriously.

“Does it have anything to do with me?”

“You are responsible for my loss of time.”

Asshole!

She looked at his pleased expression, Bella was incredibly irritated.

While Charles felt much happier than before.
