Charles 68 - The Ring
As she thought of that, happiness flashed through her eyes. She knew that some women received many gifts when they had pleased their men. Maybe that was one good thing from this “relationship.”
Everything in this store was worth a fortune.
So…If she sold the thing that Charles bought her, it might be enough for her mother’s treatment fees for an entire year. And then she could go to work and earn money for next year’s treatment fees.
She might have the chance to leave Charles and have her freedom.
Thinking about that, Bella got incredibly excited, she seemed to see that freedom was approaching her.
But she did not dare ask him. She just sat there quietly and occasionally watched him.
Charles sat on the sofa and crossed his legs elegantly. One of his hands supported his head, he closed his eyes, and the long eyelashes could be seen clearly. The other hand rested on his thigh. The watch on his wrist was shining, it, of course, must be very expensive.
The manager came back and walked in after knocking at the door.
Charles did not even look up at him. His eyes were still closed.
Was he resting?
But Bella stared at the manager.
She had never longed for jewelry as she had right now.
The manager wore a pair of white gloves and carefully held out a red box in front of Charles. He stood next to him and did not say a word.
People said about where Charles was from that the nobles changed all the time, but the Williams Family did not.
The Williams Family had existed for hundreds of years and was likely to survive forever.
The Williams Family not only got special treatment from royalty but they were also the honoured guests in all countries around the world. Because the Williams Family just did business, but they had made tremendous contributions to world peace.
The manager bowed in front of him, and soon Charles opened his eyes and took the box. He slowly opened the box and glanced at it.
Bella swallowed hard. Charles closed the box the moment she tried to look.
She felt that he was not only closing the box but the window to her freedom.
Charles played with the box casually and his eyes unpredictable. Then he said to the manager, “Leave.”
The manager nodded his head and bowed to Charles before leaving. “Lord, I will stay by the doorway, please let me know if there is anything you need.”
The door closed and Charles lazily spoke. “Give me your hand.”
He actually bought it for her!?!
Bella was exhilarated. Without hesitation, she put out her hand. She could not help but ask, “Is that a ring?”
Looking at the size of the box, it should be a ring.
“Your wedding ring.”
Bella nodded her head, and her heart skipped a beat.
Charles was mean to her, but this time he was so generous. There was no wonder that so many women desperately wanted to be his wife.
Charles took the ring out of the box and looked at her.
His fingers were long and slim. The diamond shone brightly in his hand.
He was perfect, plus his casual posture while he held the ring, any woman would swoon.
Bella stared at the ring.
The diamond was giant, even the setting was encrusted with diamonds.
Bells swallowed hard again. It must be expensive, more than $300,000.
Charles held her hand and slid the ring onto her finger.
They had an intimate relationship. Charles could have Bella if he wanted to. However, he had never paid any attention to her hands.
Her fingers were slim and fair; her palm was soft, and even he did not want to let it go.
Her nails were neatly trimmed without nail polish, and clean.
Bella looked at him and said, “I think I can put it on by myself. Don’t worry.”
There was some resemblance of ritual if he had put it on for her.
She did not want that ritual at all.
Charles looked at her and smiled, “You said that it was unfair that I can drink your blood for free. I am now paying you back. Don’t you want it?”
"No, no, no, you have misunderstood me. My Lord. It is a gift from the Lord, how could I do not want it. This is also what women all over the world dream about. Yes, I accept it.” Bella quickly showed a grateful smile. Her eyes were like two crescent moons while she smiled, extremely sweet and lovely.
Charles smiled back and held her hand to place the ring on her finger.
It was suitable.
Bella was as excited as if she were already free. As long as she did not owe him, one day she would find a way to leave him.
Bella withdrew her hand and raised the hand in front of her eyes and stared, “So beautiful.”
Bella thought about where she could sell this ring.
Charles looked at her excited face; her eyes brighter than the diamond ring.
It turned out that most women liked diamonds.
And Bella was one of those women.
“Then, let’s go.” Charles stood up and walked towards the door.
Bella collected herself. She took her bag and followed Charles out.
The manager and the salesclerks all understood the situation at the sight of her ring. They sent them out and said, “Lord, lady, we hope to see you again.”
Bella sat in the car. She had stared at the ring the whole time and was too excited to acknowledge the pain in her body.
The manager respected Charles very much, plus the big diamond, the ring must be worth a lot. Maybe it would even cover her mother’s living costs.
Bella was well-behaved these last two days.
On the third morning at 7:40 a.m., she came to Charles’s room on time.
That day was an important day for her.
Bella wiped the blood on Charles’s lips after he drank. She then asked him respectfully, "My Lord, you’ve told me that you wanted to make me your secretary today, does it still count?"
Charles adjusted his tie and glanced at her, “So you plan to go to work dressed like that?”
“No, no. I wore what would make it easy for you to drink my blood. I will change my clothes now, right now." Bella rushed to her room.
As long as she was able to leave the house, she would have the chance to sell the ring.
