Chapter 52 – The Unexpected White Knigh
It is commonplace that famous people get expensive clothes and jewelry lent to them when they attend big events.
But all commodities must be returned.
Although Molly Sims was an entertainment industry acquaintance and appeared on the screen every year, there was a phenomenon that the famous inclined to compare themselves with each other. Although her income was higher than anyone in her age group, she did not get a deposit at all, let alone have 10 million to compensate the sponsor, and they would rather not go through insurance.
Molly had shown up at a shopping mall yesterday afternoon, with a valuable necklace from the sponsor of the charity gala. The sponsor was only a small company by the name of Tiffany’s.
The evening gown was lent by another designer, but she took off the necklace for it didn’t match. Her handbag was too small to fit the jewelry, so Lynn Sanders was willing to hold onto it in order to get closer to her.
Lynn Sanders was Len Sanders’s daughter. Even if she had lost it, she was rich enough to compensate for it. That's why Molly trusted her enough to give her the necklace.
Now, she was going to make her pay for the loss.
Lynn kept apologizing and looked embarrassed. Besides, she needed people’s affection and praise for she almost lost her virginity because of that “love” for her fans.
People around her were sympathetic and asked, “Miss Lynn, where was the last time you saw it? Did you place it down somewhere and forget?”
She almost burst into tears, “I didn’t leave it anywhere, it was in my purse, I didn’t go anywhere.” Suddenly her eyes opened, “I only went to the washroom a minute ago.”
More enthusiastic people gathered around, “Miss Lynn, do you recall what happened in there.”
After all, it was a valuable necklace.
“When did you notice it was gone?”
Lynn, with her head titled, recalled, “I went to the bathroom to freshen up, and I was hit by someone when I came out.” She suddenly realized, “Yeah, I was hit by someone,” then she quickly said, “No, no, it cannot be her”
Molly grabbed her at once, and nearly screamed, “Who bumped into you? Do you know her? She's still here?”
Lynn had been crying, she hesitated to point to the direction of the door and continued to shake her head. “No, no, it could not be her. I bumped into my sister, but she wouldn’t do that.”
When she heard Molly scream, Bella looked to find out that Lynn Sanders wanted people’s attention to switch to her.
A few people stood close to her, and a few walked away, for they didn’t want to get involved.
There was a young man that stood in the corner not far away that watched everything unfold.
“Sir, do you want to handle it yourself?” asked Quentin Jacobs.
Edwin Beck had stepped forward and coughed, Quentin quickly handed him a handkerchief. As soon as he stopped coughing, Molly screamed at Bella, “You, horrible woman! You thief. Give me my necklace.”
People presumed that Bella had stolen things before, so they cast her a suspicious glance.
Bella was in shock. Why did Lynn accuse her of stealing? It seemed that if she didn’t die in sorrow, she wouldn’t let the matter drop. But she didn’t have to be afraid for she didn’t steal the necklace.
She took a deep breath, and didn’t fear to look at Lynn, “You said I stole something. Do you have any evidence?”
Molly took a cautious look at Charles Williams who stood beside Bella in silence. She instantly assumed she knew what happened, and snorted, “It's easy to prove it. Open your bag.”
As soon as the noise came down, everybody got excited, “Search her.”
Search her? How could these people treat her like that?
Even police needed to show a warrant before they search a suspect. How could she do that to her?
She felt disheartened. She was harassed for her leaked fake naked photos, and now she was Charles’s plaything.
She was meaningless.
Bella sneered, and looked at Molly and Lynn, “If there is nothing in my bag, I want you to apologize to me.”
She could save her dignity and didn’t have to rely on anyone.
Lynn looked at her firmly, but her voice sounded cowardly. “Why would you do it, sister? If you needed a necklace, ask me for it. I'm sure I would have lent you one, but you shouldn’t have stolen her necklace.”
As soon as she spoke, Molly’s anxiousness had gone. She looked confidently, “Well if we are wrong, I will apologize to you right here in front of everyone.”
“Well!” Bella raised her head up, looked at them, raised her bag and was about to open it, but her hands were held by the man who stood beside her.
Bella was surprised and looked at Charles with suspicion.
He was going to stand up for her?
He did not look at her, and his eyes swept over Molly, “Do you think my woman could not afford a ten million dollar necklace?”
All the bystanders became silent, and everyone wanted to gossip about their relationship.
Charles looked at Bella.
Did that mean she had a place in his heart?
Molly was surprised, and for a moment her lips quivered, and she didn’t know what to say.
Charles told Ziv, “Review the surveillance camera.”
Lynn’s face changed when she heard they would review the surveillance camera. She hurried to say, “I don't think my sister would have stolen the necklace.”
And then, she looked at Molly, “Molly, I can pay for it. After all, she's my sister..”
She still was determined that Bella stole it.
Charles interrupted her, “No one will insult my woman.” and looked up to the screen, “Open your eyes!”
