Chapter 50 – Men are Mysterious

Lynn saw that Charles walked towards them and then she quickly pulled Molly’s hand and said, “Molly, let’s go. She is Charles’s woman.”

When Bella just intended to slip away, she was shocked that Lynn did harm to her through the hands of Molly.

Sure enough, Bella’s arm was clutched, when she looked back at Molly she asked coldly, “What do you want?”

Molly glanced at her contemptuously and said with great ridicule, “Do you know what the occasion is? Why did you come to the charity gala hosted by the mayor? To auction yourself?”

Bella angrily turned around and knew that Molly would make a fuss about the erotic photos.

She had been suppressed by Charles for a long time, so Bella’s rage surged up quickly. She looked at Molly and said, “If anyone could auction themselves, I believe that Miss Molly’s return would be much higher than mine.”

Bella turned around and walked away because more people started to watch them, and she didn’t want to argue with her again. In public, if she made Charles embarrassed, she would be punished.

Bella dared say that Molly was the no better than she was to sell her own body. Molly burst with anger. She believed that Bella was such a small insect and couldn’t compare with her.

Molly sputtered with her finger pointed at Bella, “Your erotic photos were spread all over the network, but you still didn’t admit that you sold your body.”

Her voice was so sharp that it attracted even more onlookers.

Almost everyone around them knew that one of Len’s daughters had the incident at the wedding, but they did not dare to mention it for Charles’s sake. However, Charles did not come forward to help Bella when she was scolded by Molly. Everyone believed that Charles had only flirted with her due to her body in the photos.

Then all of them got the courage and pointed at Bella. Someone said, “She’s got a lot of nerve to come to such a formal occasion. She’s really a sucker for punishment. I’d be embarrassed to be seen in public if I were her.”

Some people were still afraid of Charles and mediated, “Don’t talk nonsense! Those photos may have been photoshopped.”

“That’s impossible! If they were created by Photoshop, it meant that she was a hated woman.” replied someone.

The envious people were the majority. After all, Bella had accompanied Charles to the gala even after she had this scandal.

When Molly heard that most people took her side, she complacently crossed her arms across her chest and said, “There are still a few minutes before the start of the auction, and I advise you should piss off right now.”

“Yeah scram!” a gentle voice sounded behind her. Meanwhile, a tall, straight figure appeared in the crowd.

The crowd made a racket.

Bella looked up and saw a man who wore an exquisite, tailor-made suit with a waistcoat of the same colour, a white shirt, and a dark brown tie.

His profile was very handsome, and his lip line naturally was slightly raised, which showed a little alienation in his mildness. A stern boy in a white suit followed behind him.

He stood in the crowd in a dignified manner.

However, this man that had the same momentum as Charles wore a half-faced silver mask, which made him more mysterious and compelling.

Charles stopped immediately and a great rage gathered in his cold blue eyes.

Ziv noticed this change and tactfully said, “My Lord, I am going to bring Madam over at once.”

Charles waved his hand and said, “No.”

He would like to see the man who dared to contest with him for Bella.

When Molly looked at the man in front of her, her momentum weakened. But if she chickened out under the onlookers’ gaze, the news of tomorrow would deride her.

However, when she saw this man whose manner was imposing, she thought that he must be an influential person and dared not offend him. Then she said in a softer voice, “I was a little loud just now, so I am sorry for my disturbance. I am quite a straightforward person, so I can’t help speak out when I see some dirty people.”

Then she waved at everyone and said, “I’m sorry!”

The man looked at her with a faint smile and said, “Are you sure? Miss Molly stayed with two different men today and yesterday. I believe that you have changed boyfriends often because of your pursuit of perfection.”

His voice fell on the ears of everyone who was about to leave, and they turned around to gaze at her with the same scrutinizing look as they had given Bella.

Molly trembled with anger and said, “Sir, stop slandering me if you have no evidence.”

The man said, “The tabloids had reported it. How could it be a verbal statement without any proof.”

Lynn defended Molly in a soft voice, “That news was fabricated by the paparazzi.”

“Bella’s photos were also fabricated by others, so why can’t you let that go?” The man said and then looked at Lynn and Molly. “Could it be that they were fabricated by you?”

The onlookers looked at Molly in an entirely unusual way.

Molly felt the difference in everyone and immediately said, “I didn’t know her. Why would I frame her?”

The man smiled and said, “Yeah, so why did you just slander her? She didn’t do anything to you.”

Molly was about to say something in retaliation when the voice of the host slowly sounded over the mic.

“Everyone, today's charity auction is about to begin...”

Everyone started walking to the auction area.

Bella bowed deeply to the man and said, “Thank you.”

She thanked him for standing on her side when everyone didn’t believe her.

The man chuckled, “Did you forget me in only a few days?”

Bella said in astonishment, “Did I know you?"

The man touched the mask on his face and chuckled, “Yeah, no wonder you don’t recognize me.” Then he raised the corners of his soft lips and reminded her, “The Little Prince.”

“Ah! Edwin?” Bella was stunned and muffled her mouth.

It’s too exaggerated. The man didn’t look like him at all.

“Did I go too far?” Edwin softly touched her head and chuckled. “It seemed that this outfit over shone me tonight.”

Bella confirmed he was Edwin based on his voice. Then she relaxed and inquired, “What happened to your face? You were fine a few days ago.”

Beck replied, “I was allergic to some food.”

Thinking of the horrible allergies on Charles’s wrist, Bella immediately revealed a little sadness in her eyes.

It’s a pity that such a handsome face became rugged and red.

She worriedly asked, “Did you see a doctor? Will there be scars on your face?”
