Chapter 48 - Nightmare!

“Mum, mum, what are you talking about? How can you sell your kidneys?” said Bella. Then her nose twitched, and her heart was full of anger. She stood up, looked at the security guard and said, “I am going to get the money. If anything happens to her before I come back. You will regret all your life choices. I’m serious.”

Bella wiped her tears, turned to look at Bess and said, “Mum, you wait here, and I will go get the money.”

“I will open the door to ventilate the room, so you don’t have to worry, she will be alright,” said the security guard. He was also afraid that something would happen when he saw how frail Bess looked. His manner relaxed when he heard that Bella would return with the money.

“Bella don’t go...” said Bess. She knew that Bella would only beg her disagreeable boss, so she weakly pulled at her arm to stop her.

“It’s okay, Mum,” said Bella. Then she loosened her mother’s hands and ran out.

She felt distressed and miserable all the way to Williams Mansion. She couldn’t understand why her mother had to shoulder such a burden which could easily be solved by calling the police. Bess was only a suspect, but if she paid the money, it meant that her mother committed the crime. Bella was angry, and she didn’t know why her mother couldn’t understand that.

But Bess was her only family, and she could not bear to see her mother sell any of her bodily organs.

Bella cried all the way back to the Mansion. When she saw that Elsa and Roy stood there waiting at the door as they did last night, she knew that they would take her blood.

Charles was not there, so she could only ask them for money.

Before she opened her mouth, Roy handed her a bank card and said, “Madam, this is the bank card that the Lord gave you before his business trip. The password is six zeros.”

Bella was so surprised that she opened her mouth and asked disbelieving, “Why did he give me this?”

Elsa smiled softly and said, “It is a matter of course that the Lord give money to his wife.”

Bella had an urgent need for the money at that point, so she accepted it immediately.

She was a sensible person and understood that people say yes to those they owe. However, she couldn’t pass out, and she had to go back out. So, Bella looked at Elsa and said, “Give me a pill that won’t make me faint.” Then she looked at Roy and said, “I will come back before 11 pm.”

Both were very cooperative. Roy was quiet as Elsa handed a pill to Bella and said, “Madam, it is better to sleep as much as possible after bloodletting.”

“I’m fine,” replied Bella. Then she walked into the room where they went last night and took the initiative to sit on the chair.

She thought that selling blood was better than her mother selling kidneys.

Bella uncomfortably looked at that the arm-like glass test tube that filled fast with her blood in an exaggerated way. She unsteadily stood up and said, “My mother is waiting for me.” Then she left at once.

After Bella walked away, Roy ran out to the forbidden sea area, just as he did last night.

Bella did not know how much blood filled the test tube and she felt odd. She almost passed out.

Fortunately, the bright moon was high above the sky, and it illuminated the night road. Otherwise, she would have already fallen.

She collected enough money. There were $7,000 on the card, and she had $15,000 left over from when Charles gave her $20,000.

Bella and Bess took a taxi directly home. Bella did not have the strength to speak along the way, so she wearily leaned against the door to sleep.

Bess felt guilty, so she was silent along the way as well.

After they got back home, Bella made a cup of cocoa for herself, as she waited for it to cool, she looked at Bess and hesitantly asked, “Mum, why? Why can’t we call the police? So many rich people in the world call the police, and they are not afraid of being shamed. Can you tell me why?”

She could understand it once and endure it twice. But how could she just let it keep happening?

“It was obvious that someone framed you and we didn’t need to spend that much money. Mum, please tell me the reason!” Bella tiredly said.

She owed so much money to Charles.

What would she do? How could she escape?

“Bella, only the security guard, knew about this, and nobody else in the company knows about it. But if he calls the police, everyone else would know, and then it will look bad on me.” Bess nervously said with her hands pulling the corners of her clothes.

Bella covered her face, and she became speechless. She didn’t know what to do.

Why didn’t Bess fight against the false accusation? It was clear that the security guard and the customer jointly framed her and extorted the money from them.

Bella patted her shoulder and whispered, “Mum, I have to go back. You take care of yourself. Don’t go to the Hale’s Hotel again.”

She couldn’t understand or accept it.

Before 11 pm rolled around, she returned to Williams Mansion. Roy and Elsa did not wait at the door. Bella swayed back to her room and fell asleep, so she didn’t see the rough waves and the vast vortex on the forbidden sea that night.

The next day, Bella was scared to wake up.

While she slept, the door slammed open, and colossal thunder rang in her ears. Charles grabbed her by the neck and lifted her out of bed. “Bella, you are really disobedient!”

Bella had no time to open her eyes as she was being suffocated. She rolled her eyes and kicked her legs that hung off the ground with all her strength, but the more she struggled, the more uncomfortable she became.

“Bella don’t challenge me. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the consequences!” Charles angrily said. His whole body sent out a chill, which made her tremble. Elsa instantly grabbed the red pill for Bella when she saw that Bella’s face had turned blue.

“My Lord, please let her go. You will kill her!” Elsa quickly ran to stop him.

Charles was livid, he did not listen to her. Then he coldly said, “Do you think you are really that necessary for me?”

Elsa knelt and repeatedly bowed as she said, “My Lord, please think about the child! Put the child above all!”

“My Lord, please put the child above all!” The servants that were lead by Ziv and Roy were all outside the door. They knelt down and begged.

“My Lord, the other Master has already arrived. Please think about this!” Ziv grovelled heavily.

“From now on, I forbid you from going anywhere and just give me a baby!” Charles angrily said. Then he heaved Bella back onto the bed. The back of her head hit the bedside table forcefully, and she felt a dull pain.

Her eyes were red, and her throat was tight and sore. Then she held her aching neck tightly as her body continuously shook.

Charles was horrible.

Charles fixed his tie and strode outside without taking a second glance.

“Madam, are you okay? Take this!” Elsa stood up from the ground and handed her the pill and a glass. And she continued with a bit of blame in her voice, “But in any case, you shouldn’t have touched the flowers, against the Lords wishes.”

She touched the flowers..? The flowers….!

After drinking some water, she finally remembered that she had unknowingly had a sip of the rose and chrysanthemum tea.

The next few days, Bella thought that it would have been better for her to die, than for her to live this way. Every day, not only must she clean Charles’s room, bathe and massage him, but also actively cooperate with him in bed. If he had any displeasure, he would make her suffer.

And these were just a prelude to the punishments Charles had in store for her.
