Chapter19 – Money for Clarity

Seeing the expectant look of Bess, the sick feeling of defeat in Bella’s heart immediately disappeared.

It didn’t matter. After all Bella’s mother was looking forward to it, and she would be thrilled.

“He agreed.” She said to her mother, then turned to the waiter and asked. “These objects are worth 80,000 dollars, aren’t they?”

“Yes.” The waiter was inexplicably nervous. He just saw that Bella’s boss was the owner of this hotel, Charles Williams.

Bella could borrow money from him, then she must be someone who worked closely at his side. But he was just a waiter who could only look at Charles from far away. What if Bella talked critically of him to Charles, would he lose the job he had just got?

“Here is 100,000 dollars.” Bella handed the check to him. “There are still 20,000 dollars left, you will give the change to my mom.”

“But, I have to go to the bank to cash the check.” The waiter looked at the original signature of “Charles Williams” on the check, his arrogance immediately disappeared, and his smile became somewhat obsequious, “Please wait for a moment, let me ask our manager whether he could help you withdraw it.”

Bella certainly knew the reason why the waiter’s attitude had changed. Indeed, it was all thanks to Charles.

But Bess didn’t realize that, after hearing this, she was a little concerned and asked. “Bella, is there a problem with the check? How could your boss lend you so much money? He seemed to be very unwilling.”

Bella smiled and said comfortably, “It’s fine, it will be ok.”

Reminded by Bess, she was suddenly not entirely sure. She also was worried that the check could not be cashed. However, within five minutes, the waiter ran back quickly, holding two stacks of cash in his hand, and handed it to Bella politely. “The manager cashed it. This is the extra $20,000, please take it.”

As they left the room, Bella put the money in Bess’s wallet and said nervously. “Mom, this money is my advanced salary. I may not be able to come and see you for a while. I want you to keep this money.”

Bess looked at her worried. “What kind work are you doing? I saw your boss's temper was horrible. How about...”

How about quitting the job? She knew that she had no right to say this. Taking 100,000 dollars from others, she had no reason to try and convince Bella to quit. Unless she earned 100,000 dollars could she get Bella back?

Bella understood the guilt in Bess’s eyes and said gently, “I am fine, he just has a bad temper. But he is a good man. As you know, people like him who become the boss at an early age are definitely under huge pressure, so having a bad temper is normal.” She said that with a soft sigh.

“This is true, many young people even have mania because of too much pressure. Since we have taken the money, we should work well for them.” Bess was successfully convinced.

“Well, Mum. You should go home first. Take a taxi back, the road is dark and unsafe.” Bella reminded and repeatedly warned her mother, “Don't believe Len again, never meet with him.”

She did not tell Bess that Martin and Lynn were together now, and she did not tell her that the pregnancy was a con designed by Lynn. She was afraid that if she informed her mother who loved her very much, would fight Len for justice, but instead, she would get bullied by him.

After sending her mother away, Bella went to the bathroom to freshen up. The bag given by the make-up artist was dropped and then trampled during the ordeal. They were wrecked. She couldn’t touch up her lipgloss, so she wiped off the remaining to show the original pink colour of her lips.

“You know what, today’s show was really wonderful.” A sweet voice came from behind.

Bella looked up at the mirror and saw Lynn proudly walking out of the bathroom stall and came to her side. She didn’t want to see any of the Sanders now.

Bella was about to leave when she heard Lynn giggling. “Dad says, as long as you don't agree to marry Charles, your mother will never live well.”

Bella turned back and scowled at her. “What do you mean? Today's incident was designed by you, wasn’t it? To force me to marry Charles, Len just bullied my mother to force me to submit, didn’t he?”

Lynn waved her hand most elegantly, leaving as she said, “Just what you think.” The bathroom door closed behind her.

Bella was so angry that her chest undulated. Len was so despicable and shameless that he even forced her to spend a night with Charles this way. No wonder he suddenly brought her mother here! To get her to witness the incident today, and to tell her that her mother would continue to experience this kind of accidents. All of this happened because she didn’t want to marry Charles.

Shameless, he was remarkably brazen.

Bella furiously rushed out of the bathroom. She was going to find Len, to give him a chance to submit, otherwise, if she married Charles, the only condition she had was for Len’s life to expire.

Her mother was pitiful enough, and the man who used to love her now bullied her in such a way.

But before she walked into the hall, she was pulled into a lounge room. A pungent smell of smoke made her cough.

The door suddenly closed, and Bella saw a familiar face.

She was shocked to see him. “Martin, what are you doing here?”

Martin wore a fitted suit and looked at her calmly with a glass of red wine in hand.

Bella was especially attractive tonight, her crystal cheeks covered with a faint pink colour, her lipstick was almost gone, which made her look fresh and appealing.

The black wrapped-chest gown also made her bosom look sleek and supple, her body curve was exquisite, her breasts were like white jade covered by two thin petals.

“Why couldn’t it be me? Bella, did you have to have other men?” Martin looked at her, and his gentle eyes were at a loss. “Is Charles the man who made you pregnant?”

Bella looked at him silently. He had already coupled up with Lynn.

Was he intentionally placing the blame on her now?

Martin saw she was going to leave and suddenly stopped her. “Bella, is it because of Charles, that you wouldn’t let me touch you? I have always been your second choice, haven’t I?”

Bella was livid, she was the person framed. He was the first one that betrayed their relationship, and now he was even placing the blame on her?

Bella said to him sincerely, “Martin, I think there is something I really need to make clear to you and after I explain it clearly after our four-year relationship. We are not relevant anymore.”
