5 Starting of the school life

Alexander was quietly eating his breakfast in the Great Hall looking at his schedule. For a first year there is quite the spare time. The problem for the start of school is finding the right corridor. The stairs moving as they wishes didn't, the people inside the portrait and the ghost were kinds enough to help the lost soul.

They had to study the night skies through their telescopes every Wednesday at midnight and learn the names of different stars and the movements of the planets.

Three times a week they went out to the greenhouses behind the castle to study Herbology, with a the Head of Hufflepuff and Professor Sprout, where they learned how to take care of all the strange plants and fungi, and found out what they were used for. Alexander was able to earn a lot of point thank to his theory but in practice he wasn't that good.

History of Magic was taught by a ghost, the Professor Binns. He fall asleep in front of the staff room fireplace and got up next morning ready to go teaching leaving his dead body. In this classe Alexander was doing his homework from other classes. This was just reading book and recalling the content so it's was easy for him.

The Charms class was one of the appreciate by the student because they could wield there wands. This class was taught by a tiny little wizard, the Professor Flitwick. it should be noted that Professor Flitwick may be tiny but he his among the top three most dangerous wizards in Howarts, after all he is a master duelist with and won a lot of competition.

The Professor was always excited when looking at Harry and Alexander. Using this happiness to his advantage, Alexander always ask advanced question. The rest of the classe were looking him at him like a monster and only Hermione was madly copy the content of the discussion.

Today was the day of Transfiguration, only one class by week, not enough for Alexander but cope with it. After finishing is breakfast he headed to the class room of Transfiguration alone.

Why alone ? Well he completely abandon his roommates. They wake up too late and get lost in the castle.

Arriving at the class students start to get in, at the door he saw Hermione.

"Hello Hermione, ready for our first class of Transfiguration ?"

"Yes, I read all about Transfiguration, I hope I do well !"

They gets together inside talking about Transfiguration. Hermione was ready to sit in the front row but saw Alexander heading to the teacher desk. On the desk was sitting a silver tabby-cat with weird symbols like-glasses around his eyes. Alexander bow in front of the cat take a seat beside Hermione.

"Why did you bow to the cat" she ask in whisper

Alexander just smile a the question and did not reply Hermione which glare at Alexander and start ignoring him.

After dozen of minute, chaos was in the classes because there were no teacher.Harry and Ron arrive finally at the class, probably empty stomach again.

Before the both could rejoice, the Tabby cat jump from the desk and start to expand and turn into Professor McGonagall.

She then start admonishing the students, being late, nosy, completely insane. Seamus and Dean were waiving there wand at each other with spark coming out of the tips from time to time. A lot of point have been deducted...

She then turn with a more gentle expression toward Alexander and ask who he know about her being an [Animagus].

"Well if you open a book, you will know that there ease 7 registers Animagus and Professor McGonagall is among one of them. Each Animagus bears an identifying mark on their animal form that is caused by something on their human body, for you Professor it's you Glasses." explained Alexander.

"Very good Mr. Potter, 20 points for Gryffindor"

Soon she walked up in front of the class,

"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts," she said. "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."

Then she changed her desk into a pig and back again. They were all very impressed and couldn't wait to get started. But before she explain a lot of complex details that you couldn't find in the books

After taking notes of all this, the practice could begin, the objectif turning a match into a needle.

Hermione succeed in making a good needle earning point for the House. Harry thank to his tormenting brother was also able to do it but, it was very rough and also some points. Ron seeing his new best friend able to doing it focus more on the work to be done. And for Alexander he as make a thin needle with beautiful pattern on it, he also took another match and turn into thread linking to the needle. He also earn a lot of points under the awe of the students.

The day pass quickly, in the afternoon, the class of Alexander was Defense Against the Dark Arts (D.A.D.A). Every one except him was excited... Why ? Because of Professor Quirrell, Alexander know that with him he will learn nothing. So under the gibberish of the Professor and the broken dream of the rest of the students he scheduling is time between, classes/reading and training.

For this he need to first find the Room of Requirement, it's a room inside the castle that only appear to the person in great need. The room is located on the seventh floor in the left corridor of the Hogwarts castle and has a hidden entrance opposite the tapestry depicting the attempt of Barnabas the Barmy to teach trolls ballet. The way to open the room is to walk past it three times thinking about what you need, and the door will appear.

Later that night after the curfew, Alexander was walking in the corridor in direction of the 7th floor with the Hand of Glory in is hand and is Invisibility cloak on the other hand. Why not just cast a Lumos ? Well it's a light that anyone can see and if use under the cloak you will probably see nothing.

Alexander arrive at his destination. There he start to think of a place who he can train while walking in front of the tapestry. A few he few second a door appear. He open it en enter the room. The door disappear behind like it was never here. Inside the room which is big by the way as a lot of object that will help Alexander. There is some wood puppet as target practice, chair for resting with some food and bookshelves with a lot of book.

"Well it's a good place to train" After looking for a while and take a few books for bedtime reading he left the room and will start training this weekend. Why tonight ? Tomorrow is Friday, the first lesson of Potion.... So he need to be at his top form.

With is Eidetic memory and the help of his wand, he should be able to grow quickly.

This morning Alexander during breakfast he saw two unexpected people at table, Harry and Ron.

"Huh, you finally take a breakfast, congratulations !"

"No thanks to you !" Harry and Ron reply a the same time

"Anyway what class we haves today ?" ask Harry

"Mhh, it's Potion with the headmaster of Slytherin, Fred and George told me that he don't like Gryffindor and always find fault" said Ron

'Talking about the twin, I should ask them the [Marauder Map]

During the breakfast as usual owls come in the Great Hall to give letters for the students from their family. Today Hedwig show up with a letter.

It was from Hagrid ask Harry and Alexander to go take the tea during the spare time this afternoon. Ron was invited by Harry and accept. Sending the reply, they finish the breakfast and head towards the dungeon...

Cold, dark, weird smell, a lots of bizarre things in jars, no windows; that's who the room for the Potion class should be describe.

Everyone was her, not one missing and the class didn't start yet. When the time come, the door open and a Big Black Bat enter, and with him silence.

He start the class by doing the roll call, at the name of Alexander he didn't even look at him.

'Mhh probably because of my hair I think ? The same color as here... Well a little more colorful thanks to my magic' think Alexander.

At Harry name he sneer and accentue with sarcasm the word "Celebrity" after saying is name. Of course the boys clubs a the Slytherin table sniggered.

Finishing the roll call he start his introduction speech that caught everyone attention.

"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion-making, As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses. . . . I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stop death — if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."

Silence, only silence. After hearing this the students had a different attitude but before they could calm themselves Professor Snape start his attack !

He look at Harry and start asking question.

'Well let see if my brother didn't let me down'

"What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

After thinking a few second Harry find the answer and reply "Asphodel and wormwood make a

sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the [Draught of Living Death]"

Hearing this the Professor was slightly surprised.

"Where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

"A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons, Sir"

"What is the difference between monkshood and Wolfsbane ?"

"Monkshood and Wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite.

Malfoy had his jaw drop, Ron had little stars in his eye and Hermione was impress by Harry and Alexander smile happily.

"Well it's seems that someone study before coming" He look around with a grim face "Well, why aren't you all copying that down !" There was a sudden rummaging for quills and parchment.

Of course even if Harry give a perfect answer, he didn't get any points.

The class continue, they all end up in pair, Alexander was with Neville.

'It's going to be a challenge... Make the potion without problem will preventing Neville to make mistake.'

Today they was just the mixing of simple potion to cure boils.

Professor Snape walk behind the students, looking at the potion making sure to criticize everyone except Malfoy, after it's his God-son. Alexander was able to direct Neville without problem and giving some encouraging words from time to time. Thanks to this they didn't screw up. Only the group of Malfoy and Alexander make a perfect potion. Seamus blow up his potion sending Dean to the infirmary and of course Professor Snape accuse Harry for this mistake.

'Well even, at least know less points will be deducted from Gryffindor...'

At the end of the class, the Professor was waiting at the door to close it behind the students. When Alexander pass near the Professor making flinch "I bitterly regret Lily's death" and without waiting for a reply he follow Harry and Ron toward the hut of Hagrid will complaining about the potion class...

It is also capable of accurately identifying each person, and is not fooled by animagi, Polyjuice Potions, or invisibility cloaks; even the Hogwarts ghosts are not exempt from this.

[Draught of Living Death] : Is an extremely powerful sleeping draught, sending the drinker into a deathlike slumber. Its effects are similar to suspended animation.
