56 He's willing to be a fool

Tiffany Rhian was eaten by fear that she looked as pale as a corpse, even Yeri felt nervous, what if Shin Keir overheard about the bet?

"I dare you to call this elder sister of yours and tell me what made her my fiance." Shin Keir walked in followed by Secretary Yun.

Amid the deafening silence, the girls turned to Yeri especially Tiffany Rhian with a pleading gaze but Yeri averted her eyes, she already told them earlier that she won't be helping if they offended the male god.

Besides, she may have won Shin Keir's affection but there's no telling how he is when infuriated, why would she dig her own grave by defending them?

"I- I..." Tiffany Rhian felt her breathing jarred as Shin Keir came closer.

"You are from the Rhian family, right? The audacity of you to warn my woman, which finger did you just use to point on her?"

"Boss, if you say it that-"

Tiffany Rhian fainted and the two girls started screaming like someone just died.

Secretary Yun can only shake his head, he wanted to remind the tyrant emperor that if he says it that way, the young girl might be unable to take it but alas, it was too late.

Yeri was about to say something when Shin held her arm. "Secretary Yun will settle this, do you want to go to another restaurant or stay here?"

"I prefer to stay, the food and ambience here are great. How about we ask for a change of private room instead?" Yeri suggested.

In truth, she's stressed out how to use her ability with Tiffany unconscious but for now, she has to lead away the dangerous hurdle to her plan, Shin Keir, since she cannot control him.

Shin Keir readily agreed, he won't want to stay in a room messed up by these vile creatures.

Both of them were about to leave when one of the girls suddenly called out.

"Yeri wait! I'm really sorry for everything also I didn't forget about the bet! I swear to pay my part just give me a bit of time!" the girl blabbered, she's afraid that Yeri will take revenge for all the insults she experienced now that she has the most powerful backing

"M-me too!" the other girl stuttered.

Yeri smiled stiffly and decided not to say anything. If she sounds defensive the more Shin Keir will suspect, she hastily glanced at him but he surprisingly looked indifferent.

In less than an hour, Brizola restaurant promptly received numerous calls requesting an immediate dinner reservation and some are already waiting outside demanding a table.

Manager Wayne refused those who weren't on their prior list and aren't VIP's, he would rather offend a few elites than the devil.

When he went back to the private room the atmosphere seemed bizarre and the two people he wanted to ingratiate with weren't there.

Secretary Yun clarified the situation and Manager Wayne can only click his tongue, it was a good thing he relied on his instinct and immediately left after he guided Shin Keir to the room earlier, not wanting to get implicated.

Manager Wayne still served the food to the young ladies and hurriedly went to the next private room.

"Enjoy your meal, Young Master Keir and Young Miss Zhi." Manager Wayne politely bowed, feeling elated.

"I don't know..." Yeri tilted her head, puzzled, there were a lot of girls at school who had accused her of stealing their boyfriends and boys trying to flirt with her so it was hard to tell who's who.

Moreover, she was under the impression that Tiffany's gang look down on her because of her brother's matter and status, hearing about that 'boyfriend' is a first to her as well.

"How much was the bet?" Shin nonchalantly asked but to Yeri, it suddenly felt like she was tossed to a court hearing.

Shin Keir's question is also baffling to her, why 'how much?' instead of 'what was the bet?', does that mean he already figured it out?

Yeri anxiously bit her lip, it's useless to play a mind game with someone like Shin Keir as it will only make her feel stupid.

He's no fool and can tell she's hiding something despite her explanation as some of her words just don't match her reaction, yet, he's willing to be a fool and believe her.

"You should have told me, did you think I won't agree as your accomplice?" Shin sighed and sipped his wine.

He never learned to suppress his anger and resentment but in her presence, it's just impossible to bare his fangs.

Yeri nodded and said something partly true. "Yes, you're a businessman so I thought you won't agree, isn't a bet illegal for students? Also, it's just a childish quarrel, I initially don't want to bother you and thought of asking someone to pretend as my-"

"What are you doing?! let it go!" Yeri stood up and grabbed his hand that was holding the broken wine glass, she's more surprised to see the wine glass broken into pieces like it was smashed on the floor, not from his hand.
