28 Bad blood within the family

It was more or less than 3 years ago when a mysterious hacker 'Paragon' wreaked havoc in the cyber world.

Paragon incited a purge after exposing police brutalities, family affairs, business malpractice, etc. involving people from different walks of life.

No one knew of his exact motive and intention since his method of stealing and deleting files was completely ruthless, leaving no data trail for anyone to investigate.

"I once tried recruiting this guy for gehenna and offered him money and protection against the law, but he proved to be not interested and very elusive." Tristan shrugged.

Shin couldn't care less and focused his attention on the computer screen, minutes after, a triumphant smile appeared on his face.

Tristan whistled, already expecting such an outcome. "Well, did you found out what he wants?"

"hmm, it's quite odd but it has nothing to do with us, he was trying to steal some random file about the Ricci's illegal dealings over the past years," Shin answered, tapping his index finger on the table.

He has a compilation of incriminating records of most upper-class families for personal and future use.

But how did paragon knew about it and trace it back to his computer?

"About the Ricci's? there's a possibility that the Ricci family found out about this file and paragon is working with them to destroy the evidence or he has a bone to pick against them, probably has something to do with diamonds? I find it too much of a coincidence that the Ricci's business is diamonds while paragon also stands for a 'perfect diamond'." Tristan concluded.

"I do not care about their feud! whoever dared to mess with me, Shin Keir will have a place in my hit list! and as it turns out this rat is holed up here in my city, let's see how long he can be arrogant." Shin derided.

"You manage to pin down his location?"

"Not exactly, he disconnected seconds before I can do that but there's no need to waste resources or use gehenna. If he's as skilled as you said, then he should have known how difficult it was to break my defence system, unless he is that desperate."

"What do you have in mind? wait till he tries again and set a bait?" Tristan arched an eyebrow.

Shin had a wry smile and said in a sinister tone. "Cypher this data and auction it to the black market, since he's that desperate, he will more likely take the bait."

"Ah, that sounds interesting, let me handle the auction then. It's so boring lately that even my women can't satisfy me." Tristan jested.

Shin blankly stared at Tristan and turned on the air purifier.

"..." Tristan chuckled, somehow he can't help but wonder if the naughty bunny is really a woman to Shin's eyes.

At the same time, tears rolled down Yeri's cheeks as she stared down at the broken laptop she had thrown on the floor.

She was just seconds away from obtaining that information!

Unfortunately, the other party is too good, not only did he got rid of her two notorious viruses but he almost zeroed down her location.

No matter what she can't be caught!

Otherwise, instead of saving her brother, she will be the demise of the Zhi household having to face jail time.

Still, Yeri hated herself for not being good enough and cursed the bastard who denied her the information data.

A nurse came in and was stumped for words seeing the broken laptop, like any other wealthy woman, she assumed this lady from the upper class is also bad-tempered!

Yeri continued sobbing her frustration and anger, oblivious of the nurse's opinion of her.

"Yz! sorry to call you this late, it's Levi. I heard you're at the hospital again, sorry I can't visit you. By the way, you don't have any phone issues anymore?"

"Nah, it's just a cold and I'll be out tomorrow," Yeri replied while wiping her tears. "My phone is fine now, Nina give it to me earlier when she passed by to visit."

"That's a relief, actually I called you for another reason as well, remember that guy you recently married in the game? General looter?" Levi spoke with excitement.

"Yeah, what about him?"

"Go check your email! turns out General looter is quite famous and wealthy, he's also affiliated with Black lithium and he offered our team to do a live telecast promotion for the upcoming e-sports event."

Yeri could sense the joy and excitement from Levi's tone of voice, however, she have no intention of being known.

"Uhm, Levi you know I dislike being in front of the camera..."

"I know, but there's also a talent fee and fair contract, didn't you once mentioned that your father wanted you to work? you can start earning money by doing this, it's not a bad hobby, just think about it." Levi encouraged her.

Yeri grinned, feeling a little better. "Why do you sound like a talent manager? Fine, I'll think about it but don't expect too much from me!"

"Alright! you have a month to decide so I hope you take it into careful consideration."

The both of them talked for some time about the game and Yeri soon fell asleep after.

The next day, dark clouds were looming in on Shin's villa, the normally gloomy and despotic atmosphere was thrice severe that very moment, it's as if a tragedy will soon befall the place.

Sitting in the living room are three women, Helena Keir, the current matriarch; Eleanor Keir, wife of Allister and stepmother of Shin and lastly, a young woman.

"What is taking them so long? have they already forgotten how to pay their respects to this Elder?!" Helena Keir complained.

"My apologies Old Madam Keir, a servant has already informed both the Master and Young Master Keir of your visit." Butler Hong stiffly answered, his pulse beat abnormal.

It is a known fact to him and the old servants working there of the bad blood within the family.

So why must these women seek death so early in the morning?
