33 The Flower Festival 1

Liu Hui Yin lived her life as it was before. Keeping the fact that she had started the commotion in the west side courtyard from Liu Buwei and only went to Hui Shi to tell half of the truth and let her mother do the cleaning up of the mess she made.

Chen Ru, along with the maids and servants did not spoke of the matter after having Hui Shi threatening and reprimanding them from speaking of the matter openly. While Ziqi was threatened over and over by Hui Shi's people residing inside Ziqi's courtyard, using her family and her little brother as hostages, to not pursue the matter and for as long as the child inside her womb was alright, Ziqi could only comply and nurse herself and her child.

The spring was almost coming to an end and the commoners were starting to worry about the upcoming scorching sun of summer.

Everyone knew that when summer hits the land, it will cause great disaster to both the crops and industry and along with it will be the prices of every goods increasing greatly. The problem of pricing did not pose as a threat nor a problem to the wealthy and noble people. However to the commoners and poor, it would pose as a great calamity for them to have the price increase as they could not afford any goods by the time it increases.

And before the summer comes, the bustles in the street did not cease as countless of people started to line up to buy the goods in its lowest and original price, keeping it hidden until the disastrous season comes to an end.

And other than the upcoming season, there was something that everyone was happy to begin and celebrate every year, the Flower Festival; where the people would gather around Zhen Hua, the biggest garden in the palace and the only two days in a year that a commoner could enter the outermost of the palace to sight see the blooming and colorful flowers.

Every year, the Flower Festival would be an event to have a feast, dance, sight see and also to enjoy the flowers but it was not only that, as the nobles and wealthy people would boast their riches by decorating their residences grandiosely however, no one would be able to defeat the way the people in the palace decorate the entirety of the palace as to boast their ground and boost their power to the people's eye.

That was why instead of calling it the Flower festival, it was more like a festival to boast and boost one's ego and pride.

The milkiness and purity of the snowdrops was covered under the feet of the peerless beauty of Jiao Yu. With the usual paleness of her skin and the black silk of hair waving behind her as the wind gently caresses it, it was expected that everything that was beneath her and beside her would be concealed and blur.

"Jing Chu." Jiao Yu called as she tucks the unkempt hair behind her ear.

The scene before the maids and servants were something to behold and was a first as this was the only time they could stare and get a long glimpse of their young miss' beauty without the veil covering it nor the doors of her courtyard enclosing it. Even Jing Chu and Bai Chen could not help but feel mesmerize with their young lady's beauty and be charmed by it every single time they see it.

Jiao Yu looked behind her. An entourage of several maids and servants, including Jing Chu and Bai Chen lined up behind her. She did not understand the slight expression of bliss on their faces and called once again, "Jing Chu... Come here."

Jing Chu was still admiring the beauty of her young miss and slightly blush when Jiao Yu turned to look at her, but did not hear what was being said by her young lady. Only by Bai Chen stomping her foot hard did she get her thoughts straight and answered loudly, "Coming Young miss!"

The young maid ran hurriedly towards Jiao Yu's side and only stopped within the necessary distance of a lady and a maid, "Does young miss have anything for me to do?"

Jiao Yu's brows furrowed ever so slightly at the distance Jing Chu had established between the two of them but only ignored it, as she knew that Jing Chu might be just acting the actual maid of a lady should.

What Jiao Yu did not know that after that time when one was awoken from that horrible dream, and her coldly dismissing them. Jing Chu and Bai Chen started to observe Jiao Yu and reported everything to Liu Sheng Xiao.

That day when Jing Chu and Bai Chen was dismissed, they directly headed to Liu Sheng Xiao to report. And after some thoughts, Liu Sheng Xiao ordered them to not leave their young miss' side and also to make sure they do what a proper maid should do in front of the eyes of people.

"Father told me to go out to the city to buy what I want for the Flower Festival, but I don't know what to buy. So you go with Bai Chen and some of the servants to buy whatever you want until, the money that was on the bank note that was given had been spent and come back after." Jiao Yu said.

When Liu Sheng Xiao handed her the bank note to spend it outside, Jiao Yu told him that one would better stay at her own courtyard to rest and keep the bank note inside her chest along with the other riches that Liu Sheng XIao had tucked to Jiao Y's safe keeping. But Liu Sheng Xiao did not want her to stay cocooned inside her courtyard and let her boredom eat her away as the Flower Festival had begun.

Making up an excuse of renovating her courtyard to make Jiao Yu leave and had no choice but to follow his words.

Liu Sheng Xiao knew of the dangers Jiao Yu might meet outside when going out but he was not reconciled to let Jiao Yu rust inside her courtyard and not experience what a young lady's pleasure and happiness is. In regards of her safety, Liu Sheng Xiao had already arrange everything to make sure nothing happens.

Jing Chu awkwardly scratched her head and said, "But Master strictly said that young miss must use it for herself and letting us servants use it, would make us disobey master."

"Father had already given it to me and I have every right to use it, and as for you disobeying him..." Jiao Yu sighed internally as she could not help but feel annoyed at the thought of something.

Jiao Yu would always forget that during these years, she had only been shamelessly ordering them, yet she was not the one employing the two maids and servants around her but Liu Sheng Xiao.

Jiao Yu could only gulped down every word she wanted to say,and only said, "I'll go with you but you all will still be the one who will spend the money."
