16 Night Encounter

The person standing opposite was not someone else but the man she met in the qinwang fu.

Under the flickering light in the dark, his brows were as handsome as a painting but they were tightly knitted and there was a chill that was very different than during the daytime as if he was a different person.

Yu Jie Xing stared at Jiao Yu and after pondering for a moment, the corner of his lips were lifted upward.

Jiao Yu was extremely mad and frustrated for letting the man escape and with the instigator in front of her now, she did not waste time and viciously threw the knife that was originally half buried on the ground.

In a blink of an eye, the knife that he had thrown earlier was flying back to him. Unlike Jiao Yu, he did not need to dodge the knife that was viciously thrown towards him and instead catches it between his two fingers flatly. When Jiao Yu saw what he just did, she knew that this man was not normal and it will be hard for her to fight with him.

"Why are you getting in my way?" She said after a moment of silence.

Yu Jie Xing's lips hooked up to a smile but his eyes were far from smiling, "I'm not getting in your way, I was only trying to help a damsel in distress."

Jiao Yu did not understand what he meant by that and as if on cue, several torches were moving around the trees far from them.

Several hurried steps were heard around them, encircling them. It seems that the man she let to escape got reinforcement and out here to get her.

Jiao Yu looked accusingly towards Yu Jie Xing and said, "If only you did not get in my way, that man would've been lying here, dead and dead men can't call for back ups."

Yu Jie Xing shrugged his shoulder and thrown his hands midair, "You must not know but if I did not get in 'your' way, the one that would've been lying down there is not only one body but two."

"Those people had been waiting there since earlier and must be just waiting for a chance to get you." He added.

Yu Jie Xing walked over and looked condescending at Jiao Yu, "I wonder why a young lady like you have so many people trying to murder you instead of admiring your beauty."

Jiao Yu could not understand the intention of the man in front of her. The last time they met was inside the carriage, which he shamelessly entered and made such an absurd excuse after, then when she tried to call after him, he just walks away. And that time was also when she had no veil on, now he'd seen her going against a man bigger than her, ruthlessly tried to kill someone.

She'd been wondering the identity of this man and through his words earlier, he had already found out her identity as the daughter of Liu Sheng Xiao. Jiao Yu pondered how long did this man had been here and what did he saw or hear and hoped that he did not witness the things that happened inside the wood shed.

Under his eyes, Jiao Yu could not help but feel uneasiness towards the man. Jiao Yu turned her back and did not pay attention to him.

"Where are you going?" Yu Jie Xing asked.

Jiao Yu starts to walk away and aid behind her, "Since you like getting in someone's way, why don't you just stay here and talk to them as well."

At this moment the heavens did not stop the drizzle falling from the skies and the fine silk-like rain landed on her, her clothes were already wet by the blood that got sprayed on her but with the rain landing on her, the thin clothes was plastered on her body. Yu Jie Xing's eyes swept across her body, landing on her face and suddenly smiled as if he was watching a good show, "To leave here, one would need to go through the woods in the forest which had a number of people patrolling it. If you want to head to death, I will not stop anyone from heading to their death. So please."

His words were said annoyingly and there was a stubborn smile on his face. Jiao Yu looked at him,"You seemed to know what to do." She said after a moment of silence.

Yu Jie Xing's lips hooked up to a smile as he got up to leave as if he did not witness anything tonight.

"Can you lend me a hand?" She asked.

Yu Jie Xing slowly turned back and after some time of pondering, he nodded his head, "It's not that it cannot be done but… If you beg me, I will then help a damsel in distress."

Jiao Yu's face changed. This man's character was cold and unruly and his tone was so frivolous but facing this handsome face, any normal female would have blushed but sadly, she's totally not normal at all.

"Alright.. I beg of you, Is that enough?"

Jiao Yu said it so immediately that he almost couldn't catch. Yu Jie Xing bore his eyes on the young female in front of him, the first time they met in the carriage was not that memorable and he didn't think of it that much, however, tonight's encounter was truly unforgettable.

He was on his way to the city after achieving his goal and used this route with his entourage to get back. However, who would've known that after just going deep in the forest, they saw someone running wildly like a wild animal and was being chased after by a woman. It was laughable on his part to witness this and was about to ignore the tryst as it was not his business to get involve with, had he not sensed the raw blood thirst and the people waiting down somewhere, he would've believe it was a lover's quarrel.

"You really do speak nicely." Yu Jie Xing smiled and said, "Come out."

One did not know who he was talking to but in a blink of an eye, a crowd of black and armored clad people came out behind the trees surrounding them, numbering about seven and before going behind the back of Yu Jie Xing.

Jiao Yu was surprised to see this. Her martial arts were not weak at all but she did not know that there were so many people hiding here and their skills were undoubtedly all higher than her. Moreover the man who was able to gather and move these people clad in both black and armor, it really made others question his identity. One did not know how long have they stayed there and how much did they see just like their master and Jiao Yu could not help but to wish that they did not arrive at all.

Once again she heard him speak, "How many are they?"

A man in black clothes cupped his hand and said, "There are roughly twenty people surrounding us."

Jiao Yu was shocked to hear that there were too many people that had come to get her and thought that, the people who was left behind was being aggressive now that they have no more methods left. There were too many of them and had she gone and done things alone, she would've been found out here in the forest with no breath.

"Are there no other routes to avoid confrontation?" She asked.

The armored clad man did not reply nor did he take a look at her, which annoyed her.

"Did a cat got your tongue?"

Yu Jie Xing smiled at her and said, "Unfortunately, they don't answer to anyone else but me."

"Then ask them." Jiao Yu said impatiently. 'There's not much time' She thought.

"Such impatience... But don't worry even if there are no routes left, I can naturally make another one." Yu Jie Xing confidently said.

The crowd of people lowered their head and agreed before disappearing in a blink of an eye to the darkness of the night. Their actions were surprisingly consistent and it was difficult to have such traits even for her or Qing Yue. Jiao Yu was thinking deeply when she heard Yu Jie Xing speaking to her, "Some time would be required so we should head the other way."

Yu Jie Xing walked forward without a care of what was ahead of them and only stopped when he noticed that Jiao Yu did not move or walk. "Is something wrong?"

Jiao Yu looked at the ground and was thinking that if she go with him and his entourage, she might get in deeper trouble, not from anyone else but from the man in front of her. However, what Jiao Yu did not know that she'd already entered the eyes of the young prime minister nor did she knew who and what is the identity of Yu Jie Xing, aside from 'the man from the qinwang fu'.

After a moment of thinking, she said, "I think it is better if we go on our separate ways than go together."

And with that, she disappeared from the view of Yu Jie Xing.

A man clad in black came back and walked towards Yu Jie Xing, "We created a route for you and the girl, wait... where'd she go?"

Yu Jie Xing didn't pay attention to the man and said, "Let's go."
