28 Cann Wood Forest Part 3

We all drifted off into a sleep after joking around with one another for awhile, that's when I could sense a powerful aura swirling around us. So I woke up and turned to see if the boys were asleep but to my surprise they were already awake, " Guys do you feel that?" They all turned towards me nodding, I stood up and that is when I noticed her, my grandmother was walking from behind the barrier towards us, she had white hair with deep violet eyes. She stood just as tall as I did but she was a lot more intimidating then I was, I wasn't entirely sure what to do. So I walked a little closer but when I did she held her hand up sending me flying backwards into the tree behind me. Genius rushed over to me, " Princess, are you ok?" I just nodded standing up, I looked over to my uncle and he seemed to be frozen in place. I walked over to him placing my hand on his shoulder, "Alcide, try to talk to her before this goes south really quickly?" I could see that he was shocked to see his mother but this wasn't the time for this, I knew this could go south really quickly if we didn't convince her of who we were.

So I turned my uncle around so that he was facing me, " Alcide, I know this is a shock but I can't lose you guys and you know what will happen if we can't convince her of who we are please try." He just nodded before turning around and walking towards his mother, " Mother, it's me Alcide do you not recognize your own son?" She turned her head to the side, before sending Alcide flying through the air, " My son is dead!!" I stood there in shock of what just happen, but I didn't have time to process anything before Zeus started walking forward, " Grandmother, it's Zeus your daughter's son please tell me that you remember me." Again without batting a eyelash she flicked her hand sending my brother flying right on top of my uncle." This is going very badly, Genius stepped forward I went to stop him but he wasn't listening as always, " Look calm down a minute I know that you don't remember them but you remember your daughter right, Athena Cage." You could see something in her eyes soften a little bit but then they were back to being bright violet, she lifted her hand up again sending Genius in the air and on top of the other two."

I stood back up slowly walking towards her that is when I heard Violet, " Art, your going to have to show her your eyes, I don't think she is going to recognize anyone right now she has been by herself for so long." I knew that she was right but what if I couldn't get my eyes to do it, they seem to only do it when I am angry or fighting. I walked up focusing on the aura around my body allowing that powerful energy that coursed through my body to take over, when I opened my eyes I could tell they had changed I don't know how but I could feel it. I walked closer, " Grandmother, it is me Artemis I am your granddaughter, child of your daughter Athena Cage I ask that you please look at me and see that what I am saying is true." I held my hands out to the side to show her that I held no ill will toward her, she walked closer to me, I flinched for fear of what might happen, but she grabbed my face looking me in the eyes, " Athena is that you my sweet girl?"

I wanted to cry she didn't even know that her daughter was no longer on this earth with us, " No, grandma it's your granddaughter Athena's daughter." I could see the tears welling up in her eyes, " This can not be true you guys shouldn't be here no no no this isn't possible." I turned to see that all three boys were walking our way, Alcide was on the verge of crying I could see it in his face and it broke my heart, " Mom it's me Alcide." She started to get angry again but I place my hand on her face closing my eyes allowing my memories to drift into her mind, I don't know how the hell I am doing this but it was like this was something I had to do to get her to see. When I removed my hand from her face, she was in complete tears, " My son, how, how are you here?" They both were in tears, but before they could completely break Zeus stepped forward, " Grandmother do you remember me, it's Zeus your grandson." She looked him up and down, " Zeus you have grown so much." She engulfed Alcide and Zeus into a hug once she released them she turned toward Genius, " And who might you be I don't recognize you?"

Genius stepped forward lower his head, " Ma'am I am your granddaughter's mate." Her eyes became wide before turning towards me, " Artemis is that you? this can not be I really thought you were Athena." I just shook my head trying to keep myself from crying because I had a feeling the next question wasn't going to be a great one. She turned towards all four of us, " Well where is Athena, where is my daughter?" Everyone became silent I couldn't bring myself to tell her, I just couldn't but as if Alcide could read my mind he stepped a little closer to his mom, " Mom, Athena didn't make it she was attacked by a wolf that meant Artemis harm." I could see the anger and the hurt in her eyes, she turned back towards me, " What is the meaning of this." Again as if something pulled me towards her, I stepped forward placing my hand against her face closing my eyes and allowing the memory of that horrible day pass between us. When I removed my hand I could see her start to cry, she wept for her daughter and there was no amount of comfort that I could offer her to make her feel better. We sat in silence for what seem like hours before she spoke again, " Alcide, why have you come? How did you remember this place we wiped it from your memories so you couldn't come back here."

He turned towards his mother, " Mom, I wouldn't have remembered if Artemis hadn't helped me." She turned towards me, " How? there is no way you have came into your powers that quickly." I didn't know how to answer that because I wasn't sure of the answer myself, " I don't know, I just knew how to help, just like I know how to speak to mother in the spirit world." Her eyes seem to enlarge after I spoke she turned towards the boys, " Is what she say true?" They all nodded, Alcide stepped a little closer to his mom, " Mother, Artemis took me to see my sister, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have even known you were still alive, I thought you died a long time ago." She placed her hand on Alcide's shoulder and lifted his head with the hand, " My son I never meant to cause you so much grief, but we had to protect her and him from what was coming, yes Artemis was the main focus but Zeus you are connected to your sister in a way that we can not totally grasp, so because of that it puts you in danger as well." We looked at one another confused, Genius beat everyone to the punch, " Excuse me ma'am I don't mean to interrupt but what do you mean that they are connected?"

" First of all quit calling me ma'am my name is Hera, second off how could none of you know any of this didn't Athena tell you this." Everyone looked down at the ground, Zeus looked up at our grandmother, " No, she kept much away from us, but she never even told Artemis about any of this, she didn't learn about us till the night mother died." Her eyes became wide before turning to me, " Child is what your brother say true?" I lowered my head not sure how to answer when I felt Genius hand on my back, I looked up at my grandmother, " Yes, it's is true I knew nothing about any of this till the night she was killed but I didn't find out most of it till the first full moon, mom never told me anything I didn't even know anything like this existed till that time." My grandmother was furious after hearing this, she started cussing and they she said something that we didn't quite understand but after she said it my mother's spirit appeared above the fire. We all let out a loud gasp before my grandmother spoke, " Athena Raine, why on this earth have you withheld so much information from them and then have the audacity to send them here?" I could see the shame on my mother's face, you could see how disappointed in herself she was.

" Well hello to you to mother, I didn't feel it was necessary at the time to tell them anything because she wouldn't come into her powers again until she was 16, but I see now that my mistake has caused a lot of trouble." My grandmother started pacing back and forth in front of the fire, " Athena, you know you have not properly prepared any of them, they know nothing of what is to come and your didn't even properly train Artemis and Zeus before you left this earth, they didn't even know about their connection." My mother's eyes became wide, " Please mother tell me you didn't mention that?" My grandmother rolled her eyes, " Yes I did of course but I hand no clue how much you have sheltered them from and hide from them, how the hell are they suppose to properly protect themselves and there pack if you lied to them there whole life." With that my grandmother didn't even give my mother time to speak before waving her arm and causing her spirit to dissipate. My grandmother turned towards all of us, " Let us go beyond the barrier I have a home their we will rest and then discuss everything in great detail tomorrow ok." We all nodded we knew better then to question her I didn't want to see her when she was angry and apparently the other's agreed.

We followed her through the barrier deep into the forest before walking up to a small cottage in the middle of nowhere. My grandmother recited some sort of incantation that I was sure but I have no clue what she said but after she said it her cottage grew a whole lot bigger. She turned towards us, and said another incantation, " Now off to bed all of you I will wake you in the morning we have much to discuss." With that she disappeared and all of our bodies started moving on their own causing us all to go into the house and in different direction, me and Genius were in the same room and then we both were in bed drifting off to sleep quicker then we ever had before.
