20 Trip down memory lane
I was sitting in my office, staring at the sky I could see the moon full as the day I looked at the clock and noticed it was 10:30 pm. It was getting close to time and I was becoming more nervous by the second, I wasn't sure if I could do it but I know I have to try at all costs. I heard the door open I turned around to see who it was, it was Genius I figured he would be here first. " Hey princess, how are you holding up?" That was a loaded question I just looked at him, " I am nervous, but I know that I have to do it is the only way we can find a way in." He walked over to me wrapping his large arms around me doing the only thing that he knew he could do at the moment. He kissed me on top of my forehead " Princess if anyone can do it you can never doubt that and we will be here watching over both of you while you do this." I knew he was right but I was still very nervous because it could go very wrong.
The door to the office opened again Genius and I both turned, Daniel and Zeus had walked in. " Hey squirt, you doing OK?" I just gave him a look that only Zeus would know, " It will be OK sis you got this don't ever doubt that." Daniel walked over placing a hand on my shoulder, " Artemis you got this OK." How could everyone else have more faith in me then I have in myself, I looked back at the clock it was 10:55 pm. I hope Alcide gets here soon because I want to get this started as soon as possible. I waited a few more minutes, I was beginning to think he wouldn't show up but just as that thought crossed my mind in walked Alcide. You could tell he was nervous and I don't blame him, I was about to go into his mind and see personal stuff. I looked at him " Are you ready uncle?"
I knew the answer I don't know why I even asked, of course, he wasn't ready his niece was about to be playing around in his head. " Come on Alcide lay down on the couch that way we can get started, I know you don't want to do this anymore then I do." He just lowered his head I could tell he really didn't want to do this, but it has to be done it the only way that we are going to get into the castle. So Alcide walked over to the couch and laid down, I went over there and sat right beside him having him lay his head onto my lap. I looked down at him, " OK, Alcide I just need you to close your eyes and relax." He did as I asked him to do, then I placed my hands on his head before closing my eyes I cleared my head focusing on reaching out to Alcide's mind so that we could connect. That's when it happened I saw a flash then I saw my uncle as a child, only reason I can recognize him is because mother showed us their child photos before she passed. He was running around in a forest with my mother right beside him. I could feel every emotion that he was feeling, he was happy and having fun. But then a white flash happened and we were inside of a bedroom but I wasn't sure of where because there wasn't much in his room for me to figure out what. When he got up and walked out of the room that is when I noticed that we were in the castle.
So we found the memory of the castle now we need to see if this is the memory that tells us how to get in and out of the castle undetected. But he was heading down the stairwell, to a large dining hall at the table I could see my mother, grandma, and grandpa, they had all been talking but fell quite when Alcide walked into the room. Why were they all staring at him, that is when my grandmother spoke: " Alcide, come take a seat Hunny we need to discuss some things with you and your sister." So I saw my uncle walking over to his chair he pulled it out and sat down looking at my grandparents, my uncle was nervous I could feel it. "So you know that there is a lot going on around us right now right?" My uncle nodded his head, so my grandfather spoke this time " Well we are going to have to make preparations just in case things go sideways at any point while we live here." I could feel Alcide's concern grow, then my mother turned toward him " Brother, you know that Artemis isn't safe here even with me concealing her powers so we must have an exit strategy in play."
I finally heard my uncle speak " Well what do you propose we do and where are you mate sister shouldn't he be here for this conversation too." My mother looked down but before the memory could continue I saw another white flash and we were in the castle still but there was what looked like a fight going on. I saw my mother kneeled down beside a man crying, my uncle was holding me with Zeus standing next to him crying, " Sister we have to go now." My mother stood up and then she grabbed me while Alcide grabbed Zeus they ran into a library and pulled a book on the second shelf before entering into this large space. They started running through this corridor that seemed like it would go on forever till it came to a small room. My mother stopped " Alcide, we have to go the rest of the way but the children are making too much noise I will have to use my magic to put them asleep till this is all over." My mother spoke words that I could not understand but then I saw myself and my brother fall asleep in my mom's and uncle's arms.
They continued through the corridor for what seemed like hours till I saw a light at the end of the tunnel when we exited we were in a large dense forest. My uncle turned toward my mom " What now, where are we suppose to go?" My mother turned toward my uncle and smiled: " It is ok little brother, just relax I will get us out of here." That was the last thing I saw before the memory faded and I was back inside of my office. I was panting heavily, I was exhausted but I couldn't think of that now, I turned and Alcide was sitting up with tears running down his face. I went to say something to him but he got up and stormed out the room before I could, Daniel looked at me " I'll go after him and make sure he is ok." I just nodded I felt horrible I didn't want to bring up any memories of his but that was the only way that we could find the entrance to that tunnel. But even then I am not sure if I can find it, Genius and Zeus came over to the couch and sat down beside me. " Princess, what happens?" I just hung my head before Zeus grabbed my hand " Squirt, did you find the entrance we need?" I took a breath before speaking " Yes and No I know what it looks like but not entirely sure where it is in a dense forest but I am not sure if it is in Scotland or outside of Scotland."
They both looked at each other before turning to me, " What do you mean you don't know if it is in Scotland?" I just shook my head " Exactly what I said they were in that tunnel for hours before they saw any light so that means the entrance is anywhere. The only hope we have is maybe Alcide remembers." I looked down again and Zeus placed his hand on my shoulder " Well we are going to have to give him some time because I would assume that even the littlest memory was too much for him especially if he blocked it out." Of course, I knew that but I didn't want to wait, " I know that Zeus we just really need to get their our cousins need us." That is when Genius gentle pulled my face towards him " Princess, we will but give him some time that was probably traumatic for him remembering that stuff. Plus we still have to find a way to train with your magic or it will be useless." I know he was right but I just wish I could have stayed there longer to try and figure out where it was or how we got from there to where we are now. I stood up " Speaking of have you two found anything yet because I couldn't find anything either?"
They both hung their heads, " Princess, we still haven't found anything I don't know where else to search for the information." Zeus was being oddly quiet for once, Genius and I turned toward him at the same time " Zeus, did you find something?" He looked up at me " No, but the only person that knows is the one person that hide everything from us." I just looked down at the ground I knew who he was referring to but I wasn't sure if I wanted to contact mom again with what happened the last time because neither of us can remember what happened after she disappeared which made me nervous. Genius seemed to know exactly what I was thinking because he looked at Zeus " Ya, your guy's mom may be the only one that knows but I don't think that it is a great idea with neither of you remembering what happened after she disappeared." This was too much to think about right now, I was so tired after doing that I don't understand why I didn't do anything. I turned toward the boys " Well let's pick this up tomorrow that way Alcide has time to gather himself self and I need to sleep I am exhausted." They didn't argue with me Zeus left the room, and Genius followed me upstairs all I wanted to do was sleep, I crawled into our bed and Genius did the same. I laid my head on his chest and fell asleep shortly after.
