13 Truth

The next morning I woke up to find Genius was not in bed he must have gone outside for training. I sat in bed still in shock from the things that my mother told me the previous night. How could she keep all this from Zeus and me, this is things that we needed to know for the future. I got out the bed so that I could get dressed and head down to the office that way I could inform Genius of what happened when I contacted the mother. " Genius, Daniel, Alcide, and Zeus meet me in the office we need to talk." I mind linked them, but I also had to mindlink James to see if he found the Quil's location " James, have you found the Quil's location yet?" It took a moment before I heard anything back from anyone the first one was from the boys " OK be there in a moment." Then the next was from James " Yes, Queen I have but you will not believe where the quil is at, they are at the castle in Scotland." I hung my head on how did I know this was what was going to happen " Ok, James good work, now head back home now." I walked into my office waiting for the boys, I stared off into space for what seemed like ever before the boys came into the office. I turned around, they all looked concerned I am assuming because of the look on my face.

Zeus was the first to speak " Squirt, what is going on?" I just hung my head I was unsure how to explain everything, then I felt a familiar warmth behind me I looked up to see Genius. He placed his hand on my shoulder I knew he was trying to comfort me because this was not an easy thing for me to tell them but I had to. I stood up, walked around the desk to stand in front of the boys. "So you know how I contacted mother last night, even though we still don't know how I am doing it?" They all nodded there heads, "Well mother informed me that the Quils, they are cousins." They all spoke at once " How is that possible? are you sure that it wasn't just a dream?" I took a long deep breath before speaking again " Apparently there is a lot that mother kept from us both, do we have anything that needs to be done today because if not we will be here awhile. They all turned towards one another before turning back towards me and they all just said no.

I figured as much I didn't want to explain it but now I guess I have no choice, " All of you sit down this is going to take a while to explain and no interruptions till I finish ok." So I went on to explain what mother had told me, the boy's faces said it all I didn't have to ask them. After a few hours of explaining, Zeus stood up and punched the wall behind him leaving a hole in the wall. I walked to him in tears wrapping my arms around him trying to comfort him because I knew exactly how he feels. " Squirt, how could mother lie to us about this stuff?" Before I could open my mouth to speak my Uncle spoke first, "your mother lied to me, she told me our sister had drowned." " She never told me that she killed our sister, why would she hide that from me of all people after everything I did." I felt bad because I could not offer them any type of comfort because I felt the same thing.

Daniel was still standing there with his mouth open he was not sure what to say or how to help either. We stood in silence for a while before Genius decided to speak, " Look guys I know that this is hard but you have to get it together we have plenty of work to do, not only that but we have to help Artemis figure out more about herself." We had all forgotten about the fact that I wasn't a full werewolf. Zeus spoke " Wait, but doesn't that make me half enchantress to because mom was?" I was confused because my mother never told me that part so I couldn't answer is question honestly. " Zeus I am not sure mother didn't tell me but it would make sense that if I am you are." My uncle stood there with this guilty look on his face like he knew something but before I could speak Genius did " Alcide, you hiding something, so you need to tell us while we're all here."

My uncle just hung his head, and at that moment I knew what he was about to say would be something that neither Zeus or I would want to hear. " Artemis and Zeus I want to apologize because I should have told you sooner but I didn't think it was important until now." " Zeus you don't have the same mother as Artemis, yes she raised you both but your biological mom died giving birth to you, your dad was with someone prior to meeting your mom." I stood there with my mouth open for a second, before turning to Zeus the look on his face broke my heart. " Alcide why didn't mom tell us this?" He just shook his head " Because in her eyes, he was her son nobody could have changed her mind on that, your dad thought that she wouldn't say but your mother did more than that she stayed, she married him, and raised Zeus just like he was her own son." Zeus still didn't say anything he looked defeated, like something broke inside him, " Zeus look at me, just because we do not share the same mother does not mean anything you are still the son of a powerful alpha, we have to understand why mom never told us to some extent."

He turned toward me and that is when I noticed the tears in my brothers' eyes, " Artemis, why would she not tell me, I should have been told someone should have said something to me I deserved to know that much." Before I could speak he turned around and left the room I went to chase after him but Daniel stopped me. " Artemis give him some time that was a lot to take in for everyone especially Zeus, I will keep an eye on him I will give you three some time you have somethings to discuss and figure out." With that sentence, Daniel turned around and walked out closing the door behind him. I turned to look at Genius and Alcide " Well I think that today everyone needs to go sort through what was just shared we will meet here again in the morning to discuss plans." My uncle turned toward me " Artemis I am so sorry I hope you can forgive me?" I looked confused because there was nothing for him to apologize for " Alcide, you have nothing to apologize for our mom should have told us this information soon, not withheld it no matter the reason."

I gave him a hug, then he left the room, I turned toward Genius I just broke, I fell to the ground crying. He knelt down on the floor beside be grabbing me up and holding me " Princess, it will be ok you guys are stronger than you think just breathe ok, everything will be ok." I couldn't speak, all I could do was cry, my mate just sat there and held me not saying anything. That is all I wanted was him to comfort me, I felt defeated, what kind of Alpha was I. I couldn't protect my own brother from being hurt how was I going to protect the whole pack. Almost instantly Genius pulled me to face him " Artemis, I never want you to think that again, this is not your fault, you are an amazing leader you can't protect him from something that you never knew yourself." I just pushed him away and started running, I shifted into my wolf, just started running through the forest. I heard Zeus, Daniel, Alcide, and Genius all yelling for me to stop but I couldn't I needed to run.

Before I knew it I was in the middle of the forest, not realizing I had traveled much further than out protection barrier. I heard something behind me so I immediately got on the defensive, the next thing I knew this man appeared from behind the tree he was about 6′2" and he was built. " Well, we finally meet the princess?" I was confused the only one that called me that was my mate, I let out a growl that shook the ground we stood on so that he knew I wasn't playing. He just laughed at me " O come on is that any way to speak to your father?" I stood there frozen my father is dead, so who is he. So I shifted back into my human form so I could speak to him, " My father died, who are you?" He just stood there staring at me " You truly do look like your mother, speaking of which where is she?" " We have much to discuss her and me"

I just looked at those eyes, I have seen them before but I can't remember where " She is dead." This man literally just started laughing " Your mother can't die, her body can but not her spirit, I see she kept you in the dark about a lot of things, but it is okay I know why." I was confused but before I could speak, Genius jumped from behind the tree, but when I looked back he was gone the man was gone. I just stood there confused, Genius at some point shifted back. " Princess, you can't take off like that by yourself with everything going on, you had us all worried." He just looked at my face " Artemis, what is wrong what happens are you ok?" I just turned toward him " This man just appeared claiming to be my father." His eye grew big " That is impossible, it has to be a lie, let's get you home." With that statement, I agree things were getting way to weird for one day, so I shifted back and began running home. Once I got closer to the house I could see Zeus, Alcide, and Daniel all standing there looking around but I honestly didn't wanna see anyone right now I just wanted to be alone.

So I mind-linked all the boys " Please just leave me alone tonight, I will talk with you more tomorrow some more information just came to light." I ran straight to my room and closed the door, I got into my bed and wanted to fall asleep straight away, I needed to see my mother again. She needed to tell me everything but I know she wasn't going to come tonight something inside my body and soul knew it so I just laid there staring at the ceiling. Today has been exhausting all I wanted to do was sleep but I don't know if I will be able to but one thing that I do know is my mother will tell me the truth, and she will speak it all.
