The next day came quickly. I awoke to me being on top of Genius, and he looked so peaceful when he slept, I couldn't move because he had his arms wrapped around me. So I tried prying his arms off of me so that I could go to the restroom, but I failed, so I shook him "Baby, I need to pee." I saw that beautiful smile of his. " Princess, how are you feeling today?" I shrugged my shoulders. " I'll be okay, but not if you don't allow me to go pee." He chuckled before releasing me, and I ran to the bathroom I have never had to pee so hard before in my life. Once I was done I came out of the toilet and Genius was already out of bed and starting to change clothes, I whistled " Sexy man, sexy man" He just smiled at me "Princess, you need to get ready we still have a lot to deal with today before we can even have you properly trained so that you can help protect our pack."

I immediately remembered yesterday, why would Zeus allow our uncle back after all of this time, what could he want he walked out on us a long time ago. I must have been frowning because when I looked back up Genius was standing right in front of me, he lifted my chin so that I would look him straight in the eyes " Babe, I know that this is hard for you to accept, or deal with but no matter who he is, he is still part of our pack." I looked away from him, " I know that Genius, but that does not mean that I can forgive him for everything he has done." My uncle (Alcide) walked out on my mother and us when I was still young, we needed him, and he did not care. He just walked away and never returned. How could I forgive him he was not the one that watched my mother stay up at night crying. Genius wrapped his big arms around my tiny body "Princess, I know this is difficult but at least let Zeus explain his side of things before we talk to your uncle, I know you do not want to, but this is part of being the queen and the alpha." I knew he was right, but it didn't change the fact that I was still angry at both Zeus and Alcide.

But finally I sucked up my pride, I looked at Genius " Fine, I will do it, but I am not happy about it." Genius smiled before kissing me on my forehead " Thank you, princess, now get ready and meet us in your office." Then he turned around and walked out the door, and I went to the closet to pick something out. I wanted something that said I meant business but was sexy at the same time. I found the perfect dress it was red and black it complimented my eyes very well, then I found a pair of black high heels. I slipped this outfit on before walking out of my room; I walked down the stairs until I came to the office. I stood there and let out a big breath of air before opening the door. When I opened the door their stood Zeus, Daniel, and Genius; I walked in the room, closing the door behind me. I walked behind the desk and sat down because I was unsure of how I would react to Zeus, telling me his side of things.

Once I sat down, Genius walked around and stood next to me, placing his hand on my shoulder, trying to comfort me. I knew he felt how angry I was still. I turned and looked at Zeus "So you wanted to explain your side of things get to explaining." Zeus hung his head, " Look, squirt, I am sorry that I didn't tell you Alcide was the one training you, but that was because I knew how you would react." I just stared at him encouraging him to continue I needed to understand why he did this, " Artemis, look our uncle is the only one that can train you, he trained our mother to become the alpha, yes you and mom have similar powers, but you are stronger than even her." " So I asked him to come to see, to prove that you were truly our queen, he did not want to believe me, but he came when you called, and no I haven't even got an explanation for why he left all those years ago. I am truly sorry, but I had no choice." I sat their quietly for a moment, trying to figure out what to say to him. I was still hurt that he didn't even talk to me before deciding that this was the right course of action.

That is when Daniel stepped up " Artemis, I need to apologize as well because I knew who Zeus was calling I didn't know the extent, but I knew Alcide was coming to train you." I just looked at Daniel, "Daniel; this is not your fault. Zeus knew how I felt about our uncle; this is all on him." Then I turned toward Zeus. I remained seated because I was still angry and upset all at the same time. " Zeus, some of your reasons are very valid, but you should have given me a heads up, you knew my feelings toward Alcide." I just shook my head " You weren't the one that was a comforting mother after our uncle left us, I was you didn't see how bad that it hurt her, you weren't there comforting me, you knew how to close me, and Alcide were." " Then he just up and left without any explanation as to why." My eyes began to water, I was really trying not to cry that is when Genius squatted down and just hugged me.

Zeus walked closer to the desk he never liked when he upset me this time was no different I knew that he wanted to comfort me, but at the same time he knew that not touching me was what was best. "Squirt, I am truly sorry, and you have every right to hate him but let him explain everything before you just turn him away please." I turned toward Genius, and he just nodded, acknowledging what my brother said was true. "Fine Zeus but you can bring him to the office the pack does not need to see this, and the only reason you and Daniel are allowed here is that you two deserve an answer to." I got a smirk from Zeus and Daniel, " Ok, squirt, I will go grab him." He left the room, along with Daniel, Genius turned toward me " Princess, I know this is hard, but you are doing the right thing and who knows maybe there is a reasonable explanation as to why he left." I hugged Genius, " Babe, thank you for being here; I wouldn't be able to handle all of this without you."

He squeezed me back, " Princess; there is no need to thank me. I wouldn't be anywhere else. I love you and would not allow you to do this by yourself." That is when I heard a slight knock on the door, I knew who it was, but I was nervous now to listen to the explanation. " Come in." In walked Zeus, Daniel and Alcide, Alcide made sure he stayed by the door, but Daniel and Zeus walked over by me and sat on the extra chairs. Genius squeezed my hand to give me some encouragement " Ok, Alcide you should be thanking these three men right here, for convincing me to hear you out, now would you like to explain why you abandoned us." Alcide hung his head before taking a deep breath " Artemis, I am sorry that I walked out on all of you, but I didn't have a choice, your mother wouldn't allow me to be around you two."

That confused both Zeus and I, " What do you mean? You Alcide and I were inseparable." He took a moment before responding, " Yes, I know me, and you were inseparable, but Artemis let me explain everything before you interrupt me, ok." I nodded, acknowledging that I would try not to interrupt. " Now do you guys remember the day before I left, your mother and I went for a very long walk?" Zeus and I nodded in agreement, " Now Artemis on that walk your mother thought me being so close to you would start to remind you of your powers, but I assured her that would not happen." " Now on the walk, we ran into someone that was looking for you, they wanted to do you harm, so your mother and I fought them side by side to protect you." "After we defeated them, your mother wanted to move again because she feared they knew where you were, and we could not allow that to happen, so I offered to leave and continue to fight."

I held my hand up for a minute stopping him from continuing, " So you are telling me that you left to try and protect Zeus and me." He nodded, " Ok if that is so why wouldn't you contact us at all ever, why is it when mother died you did not come back." " You weren't there to protect us when it went down yet that's why you left." By this time, I had already started crying, and you could tell it was upsetting everyone in the room because they knew how close I was to him. " Artemis, I am sorry but I couldn't' have told you because you would have tried coming with me, you were like my daughter Art, I did what I thought was best to make sure you were safe." " I didn't return for your mother's funeral because at the time I was being held prisoner, they were torturing me to learn of your whereabouts, but I see that someone already found out where you were."

I was balling at this point " How do I know you're not lying about that if you loved me, you wouldn't have left no matter what the situation was." He shook his head back and forth, " No, Artemis that wasn't an option at the time your life was more important, and as for the proof." Alcide lifted his shirt showing his chest and stomach, and it was lined with scars when he turned around the same thing. This only made me cry harder, Genius stood up and motioned for Zeus and Daniel to follow him " Genius, where are you going?" He blew me a kiss, " Sorry, princess, but this is something that you need to finish yourself." With that all three of them left me alone with Alcide, Alcide turned back toward me slowly approaching the desk " Artemis, I am sorry I left to protect you, I never meant to cause you this much pain, I would not have left if I didn't have too." I just kept crying that's when Alcide walked around the desk, wrapping me in his arms " Art, Please forgive I promise I would have come back if I could but at the time if I had come back it would have put you in more danger, you hadn't come into your powers yet or realized who you were." I just sobbed into his chest for what seemed like hours before I finally fell asleep, I don't know how long I was sleeping, but when I woke up he was still holding me, but Genius, Daniel, and Zeus were back in the office.

I sat up rubbing my eyes, and I am sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep, Genius just smiled " Princess, it's okay you were exhausted from crying your uncle luckily was able to hold you for so long in that position, or you would have fallen out of the chair." I just chuckled I turned toward my uncle " Alcide, so are you telling me you stayed gone this long to protect me from our enemies?" He nodded in agreement, " Ok, so do you have any intel on who has been searching for me all these years?" He smiled " See you already have the alpha mental thing going on, but in short, it's a mixed answer, yes and no." That confused me, but Genius is the one that spoke first " What do you mean that is a mixed answer?" Alcide just stared at us " Well I know what pack it is but now all of the members what to cause you harm, some would like to join you, but they can't tell me who the Alpha is he forced them not to." That seemed to make sense to all three boys, but I was still completely lost " How could the Alpha make them not say something?" Alcide was the first to speak " When you are Alpha you have power over your pack if you swear them to an oath then they have to abide by that oath or else one of two things can happen. One they can have their tongues cut out or two they could be killed for disobeying their alpha."

I was still confused, but that goes to prove I have a lot to learn about being an alpha, we all sat there and talked for a while before I had to attend to the other members of the pack. Genius and I walked out of the office and down the stairs where the rest of the pack was sitting. I looked at Genius and he smiled then we turned towards the pack " I want to thank all of you for coming back home, now as a way for us to bond I would like us all to go outside and transform into our wolfs and run as a pack, it will increase our bond and allow us to become one under the moon." I smiled at Genius that was a great idea, we walked outside, and the whole pack followed Genius, and I transformed first before the pack did. We all ran for hours before finding an open field where we all could lay down for a while.

I turned to look at my pack, these are my people this is who I am supposed to protect, and I will defend them with my life if it comes to that. We all layed under the moon, laying in a group with one another. This was my family, and I may not know all of them that well, but I love every one of them. The whole pack started dozing off one by one, well this is where we will rest until morning when we can all run home.
